Outpatient PTs and OTs in the evening hours constantly gossip about patients behind their backs and in front of other patients violating HIPAA LAWS. I would not recommend anyone to come here after seeing this.
They pay no attention to their patients, they almost killed my husband, when they thought he was having a stroke, they put him in an ambulance, dropped him off at the hospital, and never looked back. It is impossible to get an aides attention, You can sit in a diaper for hours on end and Call for an aide, and nobody will come. I wouldn’t send a dog here.
Kessler is one of best hospitals well rehabilitation institutions in America 🇺🇸. I went here after being shot both legs couldn't move. After 60 days here at least one started moving so for that I'm greatful thanks Samantha and Kelly my physical therapist. Superman ♂️ Christopher Reeves left them plenty money towards spinal cord for Kessler. The food was good also I gained my weight back after being shot.
Came here after a liver transplant. While at the hospital I was able to walk around freely to gain strength and use facility’s on my own. While I was here I was not able to do any of that… I thought when I got here I was going to get better, turns out I came out worse than before. Talk about a downgrade in my health. There is a few nice aids but not many. If you want a place with lack of communication, this is the place to go for sure….I had a doctors order saying I could have water and they kept taking it away from me, I ended up being dehydrated and had to be admitted to a hospital overnight on the way home. Would never recommend to anyone
My father was admitted to Kessler after suffering a stroke and I can't say enough about this place. To begin with the medical care that was amazing and professional, to my viewpoint as being a family member visiting, while they did everything to protect the patient's I can't say enough how polite and cordial the medical team was.I would not need to call a nurse if my father needed anything because they would come in frequently to check in and pay close atention on his health and comfort. Thanks to all of the medical team!!!!!
The staff at Kessler are simply amazing! Thank you Amanda DiGiovanni! You are truly my son's guardian Angel. When I felt hopeless, you gave me hope. So true, you are relentless! Dr. Jasey is saving my sons life. After only four days I see a difference. The speech therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, respiratory nurses and the entire staff exceeds my expectations. You will hear from me when his rehabilitation ends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
O.t with Rachel greatP.t with Shabhion greatP.t with Nicole greatCase manager Ken greatMain Doctor Dr B greatNurse aid Marie & Giovanni greatHighly recommendI have Gillian Burre and the team work together well and very professional. They have state of the art equipment
Nurses/aides took over an hour to assist patients in using the bathroom. Promised to get an appointment with a neurologist and a phonecall was never made. When it was time to leave they said they would set us up with out patient therapy. Only to find out after we left that they didn't accept our insurance for out patient rehab and then gave us a list of other rehab centers which also didn't take our insurance. They will give you physical therapy here and that's about it. Don't fall for their gimmick. They shoot you out of here as soon as possible and leave you hanging to dry. Do not expect above and beyond service, this is bottom of the barrel service.
Amazingly clean, plenty of parking and very helpful personnel
I've moved over from England to usa in 2010 and I had the pleasure of working at kessler as an RA on spinal cord unit with wonderfull patients and all staff were / are amaizing . Unfortunatly had to give it up due to personal reasons. Continue to do an amaizing job xxxxx
Everyone is so professional. My pt and ot Nicky and Laura were the best. I had a bad stroke. No use of my right side. I was only there for 21/2 weeks but I learned how to walk with a cane , dress my self, the doctor tors cured my incontinence problem. This was the best place I could have gone to. Wish it was longer. PS. Even the food was good.
nice friendly people. pharmacy is great.
I was sent here late 1999, after I wasn't getting what I needed in Washington, D.C., shortly after my neck being broken at C5C6, as a result of a motor vehicle incident. I was flown there by private jet on a ventelator, only able to move my head side to side, using sip and puff controls for most of all things DME related, with my blood pressure always dropping down in the 60's, not to mention the terrible blackouts and seizures that were so intense, that I would track of the sense of time. Dr. Kirshbloom was my over seeing doctor at the time, as he paid great attention to details concerning my health in recovery and my concerns in regards to what solutions were available and my best options moving forward proactively. I was discharged in late 2000, no longer having seizures or blackouts, ventilator free, moving my arms and able to pinch with my left hand, due to a surgery that pulled my tendons tight, as it had me looking like Edward Sisscor Hands for a few months...lol! Do they still serve Baked Zitti and Flank Steak...the weekend social food...lol! Oh...and the cranberry juice was everything! It was awesome to go on the outting, which was my first time going to a professional foot ball game, as I also learned that New York had two football teams. I met a lot of great people their as patients, family members, and staff and I no longer do that I slapped my self happy in the face thing anymore I experienced in learning to use my arms again...lol!
This is explicitly regarding the physical therapist I worked with. Their OT and CRP are fine. PT however is a disaster. The therapist treated me horribly and when I asked to switch I was told that it wouldn’t happen and if I’m unhappy maybe a sign that I’ve reached the max that I can in therapy. Great job blaming the patient! I have to say, after the great experience I had in their satellite location this was a true disappointment.
Wonderful facility, exceptional clinical personal, astute physicians that are available 24/7 to use their critical thinking in decision making timely and act immediately in emergency situations pertaining to patient conditions to resolve symptomatology in order to keep patient stable. Physical therapists interact with families daily via video platform to demonstrate exercises while the patient preforms them. CNAs at the bedside at all times if needed. Managed my 94 years old grandfather after complex hospital stay and discharged him in excellent shape home.Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Kessler Institute Staff!
This is explicitly in regards to their billing practices, though their staff is kind and helpful... their predatory forms, confusing billing statements and rude billing department has for sure taken my business away from this company moving forward. They send vague bills that are improperly formatted, they force you to call your insurance company in order to get a line-by-line explanation of their billing and furthermore, they place people in collections EVEN after speaking with reps to let them know that the COVID-19 Pandemic has affected their income and ability to make payments.Like any other predatory medical service company in the US, they refuse to work with their patients / customers in a fair manner to resolve outstanding bills. I always pay my bills on time, have a stellar credit history and have NEVER been put into collections over a $200 bill. It's unfathomable that a company who claims that their patients are their #1 priority would go out of their way to harm them financially rather than provide the proper information and steps to resolve balances.Screw Kessler. There are plenty of other PT / OT providers in NJ to patronize.
Kessler had my mom sit in a dirty wet diaper for hours. Her and her roommate both called for help for hours and all they were told is there is no help on sundays. She has bad sore/wound on her backside from radiation side effects and can’t risk urine or Feces getting into the wound. There was also one night I was there during visiting hours and dinner usually comes at 5 o’clock, I thought maybe they were running late that day until I got a phone call at 7:30pm from my mother who was hungry and said dinner never came. I heard the nurse tell my mom she was crazy that dinner was there but I was there from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and nothing was there. The only thing they could find for her to eat was ice cream. They also decided to change the dosages and times her medicines are supposed to be taken from her normal schedule which completely threw her off her routine. I brought my mother to Kessler because she is battling stage four lung cancer but also has a broken rib and three fractures in her spine so I assumed they would be the best place for physical and occupational therapy being they have cancer doctors there and spine specialist. For what the insurance paid them and for what I paid out of my pocket it’s like pulling teeth in there to get any answers. Yes I know my mother will eventually succumb to her disease but no person should ever feel like they can’t breathe. If you decide to be a nurse or a nurses aide then do it for the right reasons and not for the paycheck. I’m sure if it was their mother or father in that position they would get the royal treatment.
im making this complaint because of the treatment of the people who are sick that had a stroke.i witness as many as 4 people who needed to use the bathroom was told to wait .. i timed this matter for 45 minutes an nobody came to there aid so some of them wet on themselfs this is not acceptable when are insurances are paying for these people to take care of our love ones. something needs to be done about this an fast....
This place is terrible. The staff is negligent. They ignore the call button of the patients. Leave them sitting in vomit and feces for hours. Families are forced to don24 hour surveillance just to make sure their loved ones are receiving appropriate care. I have no idea how this facility is still open for business.
Autrice from the 3 rd floor has got NO MANNERS what so ever... she is clueless.. when it comes to patient care, overall she is rude.We called to get information on one of our family members (will not disclose name) and she clearly huffed and puffed over the phone.. it bothered her that we were asking about the patient. She doesnt need to be around patients
