Suketu Shah's Online Review Report Card

Google reviews has become a cancer on humanity. Half of the reviews for Dr. Shah are completely without context. If you've been told that they "aren't accepting new patients", you are obviously not a patient and so your "review" is invalid to begin with. You're supposed to review the doctor AFTER you've been treated by him, or at least had a consultation. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for leaving such defamatory reviews of a genuinely good doctor.I have been a patient of Dr. Shah for a little over 8 years. Before becoming his patient I saw many different endocrinologists. Dr. Shah has been the MOST forthright with me. He genuinely takes the time and never leaves me wondering. He is current with technology and he doesn't push medication unless its absolutely necessary. He even has a certified diabetes educator and nutritionist on hand who is wonderful to work with. As the years progress the practice has gotten extremely busy which is what happens when you're a great doctor. It is unfortunate that he isn't accepting new patients, but ultimately the man is booked. Nothing short of a magic wand can fix that. He already had extended hours to accommodate his current patients. I truly hope that if you're going to take these reviews seriously, you read mine and know that this is a great practice.

I've seen several endocrinologists since my diagnosis of hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and Dr. Shah is by far the best. I've been seeing him for 2 years, and he has helped to get my levels within the normal range. He is very attentive, thorough, and he takes his time to review symptoms, treatments, and provide information. If I ever have any questions or concerns, he always returns my call by the end of the day after I leave a message. At times, a member of his staff will relay his answer by phone. The staff is also great. They're courteous and accommodating.

Not accepting new patientsThose of you saying otherwise are old patients..dummies.They state you can visit physicians assistant.

Dr. Shah is wonderful and takes the time to examine his patients thoroughly and spend time discussing their unique medical issues. He's well trained and knowledgeable.

Extremely thorough, kind, and compassionate. He is easy to speak to and ask questions. He always takes time to carefully listen to and respond to my questions.

Recently, I had my first appointment with Dr. Shah and was very satisfied with my experience. I found that Dr. Shah is an extremely attentive, professional, highly skilled and a genuinely compassionate physician. When my test results were completed, Dr. Shah called to explain and review the results to me. After leaving my previous Endocrinologist, I feel fortunate to have retained the services of Dr. Shah.

I have been suffering with hypothyroidism for years now. I was diagnosed in 2014. My thyroid hormone levels have never been within optimal range, and after switching to his practice, I'm doing so much better and my levels are normal now. I've had unfortunate experiences with other endocrinologists in the past who were not as attentive. He listened to my concerns and was not dismissive of some complaints that I've had in the past. As a result, I am in normal range, and I'm feeling great. It is so hard to find a doctor you are compatible with. I can tell that he is truly passionate about what he does. He calls in to go over results and concerns. The staff there are also all friendly!!

Dr Shah is the among the very best doctors I've ever been treated by. He is very competent, and from day 1 the treatment changes he made have yielded positive results. Before I started going to Dr shah, I had been to 2 other doctors for treatment. Both of these doctors were older then Dr Shah, had more years of medical experience (and one had even been included in a list of top N.J. Endocrinologists in the 'New Jersey ' magazine's 'annual best nj doctors' issue one year). In spite of these things, the fact is that I found Dr. Shah to be the better doctor. I say this because he is a competent Dr who is smart, on point and insightful, and also because he is very down to earth and has an open mind. He listens to what i say and i feel respected and valued, and If he disagrees he takes time to explains why. He keeps an open mind,and he does not start with an agenda or preconceived notions. He treats me a unique individual. He has very good instincts and I have found him to be wise beyond his years, while also having a gentle manner and a genuine kindness. My first visit I remember noticing that kindness and instinctively feeling that perhaps I had found the the right Endocrinologist for me, I also see a Nutritionist, Elizabeth Bongo (who is part of the same practice) and I like her alot as well. It's been over 2 years since I switched to Dr Shah and I believe that my first instinct proved to be correct. I am lucky to have found Dr. Shah and for me he is a Godsend!

About 5 or 6 months ago, Dr Shah took over the patients of Dr Lamothe in Westfield NJ when Dr Lamothe moved out of state. I don't question his knowledge or expertise, but as of today, he is basically running 2 practices (one in Edison, one in Westfield), and he is doing so exceptionally poorly. I left a message with a live receptionist 3 times in the course of 3 weeks, to talk with Dr Shah about changing my prescription (my insurance was no longer covering the one I was taking). Neither Dr Shah nor any of his secretaties ever got back to me. Finally, I went to the office in person, and the secretaries did everything they could to get my message thru to the doctor. Another week after that, I still got no communication from him. This doctor has done a grave disservice to me due to his inexcusable negligence. I now have to start with yet another new doctor. Don't waste your time with Dr Shah.

Dr. Shah is an excellent Doctor. He is very knowledgable in his field. He takes his time with you and is willing to answer all your questions. I would strongly recommend him to anyone.
