List of Lorraine Lira's Reviews
I have been going to Dr Lira for a few years for migraine headaches. I have fund her to be a professional medical doctor with good information to help me with my migraines.
We went to this doc with a heavy heart as my closed one had some neurological issues but while coming back after seeing her and getting him checked for more than an hour, we felt so good. She has abundant knowledge and is super friendly. I would definitely recommend her!
Dr. Lira was encouraging on our first visit, but after my husband completed all the testing she'd prescribed, we returned and found her quite changed. Angered that we'd forgotten to bring the CD of my husband's brain scan (though she'd received the radiologist's report), she harped on it, and became harsh and insensitive, and ignored the suggestion we ask the hospital to send it, or let us pick it up. "Your husband's brain is shrinking," she announced. "Now you can cry." (And I did, after we left, and she asked me, in front of him, "WAS your husband very intelligent?" She then prescribed Aricept, whose side effects nearly totaled my mother. I told her so, and she replied, "He's not your mother." We settled on galantamine, which hasn't made him ill but I'm not sure how effective it is. Meantime, we're looking for a new, more sensitive neurologist.
My father was recently diagnosed with dementia and Dr. Lira explained it all perfectly. Felt comfortable and comfortable in her care. I would highly recommend her caring for your loved one.
Dr. Lira showed care and compassion to her patient. Understood and addressed my concerns and thoroughly discussed my condition. Would definitely recommed her to family and friends . She easily establishes rapport to her patient and with good countenance. God bless her
I am very impressed with Dr. Lira and her professionalism and competence. She takes the time to listen to my medical issues and is understanding and compassionate. I never feel hurried or rushed and above all I find her trustworthy.
I saw Dr Lira many years ago as the result of a car accident which left me with a serious concussion. Dr Lira was compassionate, spent a good deal of time with me and got me back 100%. I can't imagine her yelling at anyone because she has a very laid back personality. Sometimes people just don't mesh so perhaps that's what happened. All I can report is an excellent experience.
Dr. Lira is the only neurologist that I have seen who has asked the most comprehensive questions regarding my background with migraines. She has worked with me on a treatment plan that is working and consistently explains the pros and cons of my diet and medications. She is very up to date on the side effects of medications & how it affects my vitamins & birth control pills & is very encouraging & matter of fact. I appreciate her honesty & straight forward approach. Very pleased!
She was incredibly rude and pushy. She made me feel like my issues weren't a big concern and when I told her ever other dr j have met with up to this point has a difference of option, she brought out medicinal books to try and prove them wrong. She also never filled an Rx she prescribed and yelled at me for not taking it. Later realized it was her fault for sending t to the wrong place and blamed her secretaries.I am cancelling my further appointments w her. Would never recommend her to anyone.
Dr Lira is awful. Terrible bedside manner. Awkward small talk that's really more rude than awkward. Doesn't listen. Clearly doesn't look at file before she sees you. Will not see her again (have seen her twice - same experience both times).

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
