Karen Lecomte's Online Review Report Card

She talks over me and doesn't like to let me ask questions and actually sighed and stomped her foot when I disagreed with her. She gave me 1 minute to ask questions than never really answered Maybe because I'm in medicaid?

Dr. Karen Lecomte is very nice and explained everything I had questions about. She was the first Dr. to suggest something different than brain surgery.

This was by far the worst experience we have ever had at this doctor. She was very good the first few visits until she reduced her medication and it was detrimental to my mothers health so she became a mean rude person. The complete opposite of the first visits.

Very professional and easy to understand

Dr. LeComte is a very personable, affable and efficient practioner. She covers the gist of the problem, and then discusses it with you in detail. I really appreciate her as my specialist.

I can't believe the reviews I'm reading are the same Dr I have been seeing. I have Myasthenia Gravis and she has done nothing but help me and my wife who has an inoperable brain tumor. She takes way more time than most and has questioned some of our meds as to strength and frequency. After bringing that concern to out PCP Dr we got some changes made that help a lot. Never get a bad word from and I'm sorry others felt neglected.

Yesterday was my second visit…first was with NP Jennifer, yesterday was with Dr. Lecomte. Both visits were great and I felt listened too, cared for, and in great care! My case is old and I have migraines and tension headaches mostly as a result of injury so I was re-establishing with a neurologist after many years of not having seen one. I’m relieved to find wonderful care again!

Dr lacomte was a breath of fresh air. I was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which as you can imagine put me into a state of extreme depression I was feeling very hopeless at the outcome of this disease but Dr lecompte was able to really have a good conversation with me give me some realistic expectations but most definitely more hopeful ones. Her degree of compassion as well as professionalism was Top Notch. I actually cried tears of joy and for the first time since this diagnosis I feel hopeful I think she went above and beyond as far as being a neurologist and she even brought out compassion for me towards my last neurologist who is probably just extremely overworked. I look forward to being treated by Dr lecompte

First off, I want to say that my experience with Gerald Champion as a whole has been lackluster, if not downright disappointing. Long story short, a family member of mine recently had a stroke, and then a heart attack shortly after. The initial (Emergency) care they received was adequate, but the follow up appointments with the local cardiologist and neurologist (Dr. Lecomte) leave much to be desired. For one, the cardiology department and the neurology department don't seem to communicate all that well. Between dropped appointments, lost referrals, and getting the run around, there's a genuine impression that the "left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing"... At all. Anyway, regarding the doctor in question for this review: Pros: -Dr. Lecomte takes detailed notes Cons: -Dr. Lecomte is very condescending, and cuts her patients off mid-sentence; She seems to get irritated when the patient doesn't say what she wants to hear, or takes too long to reply. News flash, Karen: your talking to someone that had a stroke, is currently struggling with memory loss, and is doing their best to provide you with information to the best of their ability. YOU'RE supposed to be the medical professional, so how about YOU get off your high-horse and give us answers in a respectful manner. - Dr. Lecomte told my family member, who has had epilepsy since they were a small child that she should stop taking her epilepsy medicine since she hasn't had a seizure in over a decade. We'll, that's a horrible idea, as my family member has had numerous occasions where they hadn't had a seizure for a long time, someone messes with their medication, and low and behold a seizure happens. But sure Karen, let's just quit, cold-turkey. - Numerous times while I was trying to take notes, Karen would feel the need to tell me that " I didn't need to take my own notes, as hers were VERY detailed...". We'll... Cool story Karen, we're still going to take notes; if your notes are reminiscent of how you treat your patients, there's much to be desired. Bottom line, it's no wonder that GCRMC has such a horrible, I repeat HORRIBLE reputation. 2 out of 5 stars. Would have been 0/5 if it weren't for the decent initial care my family member received, and the assistance we've received from the cardiology office since.
