Incredible spine neurosurgeon. He explained everything in great detail and showed me on my MRI what he would be doing. I traveled over 800 miles so I could have HIM perform my procedure. I wouldn't let any other surgeon near me. Dr. Andrew Metzger M.D. is the best!

With have 6 prior surgeries with various surgeons, this doctor has awesome skills. I followed him to Az for surgery. He and his new staff are absolutely amazing. Thank you Lynsie, Daytrell. Sorry if I spelled names wrong.

I went to see DR Metzger but saw his Associate. He Went over my xrays very well letting me know that I do not need surgery. Great!! I asked him about a CSFL. He said that I would have fluid running out of my nose. I said that is for a CFL. What about a SFL? He said that I would have a bad headache sitting up and lying down would make it go away. He described one of my symptoms and the only way I have ever got relief over the last 23 years. Unfortunately he was ushering us out of the door and telling us to go back to the medication doctors, so I could not let him know that his discription was my symptoms. It's sad because his boss is the number one doc to fix a SFL out of 50 + docs who do the repair in Albuquerque.

I had a two level fusion of the lumbar spine in 2014. I was painfully thin at the time, and clamping the back muscles without releasing them periodically caused some of the musculature to die. I had difficulty standing or sitting without pain for close to 3 years afterwards. In 2020 I was diagnosed with severe stenosis, from adjacent segmentation disease from the vertebrae above the fusion. The cage for the fusion was straight up and down so the vertebrae above could not go anywhere but downward toward a 90 degree angle with the cage, destroying the cushion between the fusion and the level above. Had Dr. Metzger used a curved cage, which was known at the time, I would not have faced another serious operation just 6 years later.

Dr Metzger and his office staff are top notch. I had surgery on Tuesday and Dr Metzger and Jacque Pasternaki and the OR staff at Lovelace were professional in everyway and followed up with my wife post surgery and filled her in. Getting appointments and office returning calls was handled in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone needing neurosurgery . Thank you. I can only assume things will continue to get better. Already so much better

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever received. They are so rude and unprofessional. They could not care less for other humans. They said they emailed me - never received it. It may seem like nothing to them but it's my brain. I'm so upset. If I could give negative stars I would.

Terrible place. I tried to set an appointment there to see there doctor for a surgery to remove a tumor on my spine. The office and him didn’t properly understand my reason for needing to see him after constantly telling him why. So the neurosurgeon told me to see another neurosurgeon. Sounds like the doctor did not want to even see me or do a surgery and the office is awful. Do not recommend at all.

Dr. Metzger, Jack and Kris(office manager) are amazing team! They all helped me quickly and are amazing surgeons. I am recovering better than expected. I feel much better after surgery. The nerve pain has subsided tremendously. I wouldn't let any other surgeon work on my spine. Jack and Dr. Metzger are the only surgeons I highly recommend! Kris is amazing help! Thank you so much for everything you have done for me in my time of need.

Dr. Metzger is my personal hero. I was told that I was one hyperextension from paralysis. Today, ten months later, I feel great. No more electric shocks when I move my head.

The staff at SWNSA are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly, and handled my many needs professionally and promptly. Dr. Metzger performed the surgery necessary to relief my pain and correct my problem disc, and I am very grateful for the success of that procedure. My husband has commented that healthy appearance of the incision demonstrates the impressive skills of the surgeon. I would recommend this practice without reservation. Thank you SWNSA!
