Carolyn Castillo's Online Review Report Card

I usually have a pleasant visit, but this day was terrible. First of all, I cancelled work to schedule my appointment in advance 6 months ago. I arrive to my appointment on time but was called in 20 minutes late. The technician/medical assistant (read what happens later in) was not hospitable (okay, don’t need to be). My doctor (who I wasn’t sure of when I had my very first appointment with her; going on 5-6) was passive aggressive with me when I told her I am not sure nor am I ready to pick what medication I’d like to be on for a certain matter. She responded with, “well, you had 6 months to decide” (this appointment was the first time hearing of all the options and the side effects that come with it) and she was talking rather quickly I couldn’t remember all of them. I asked if these options can be printed out. She responded with, “well, it would take me about an hour to write them down”. I then asked if I can call or message later on if I decide to. She then also responds sarcastically rather than a simple yes or no, “well, sure. I do work 15 hour days so I may or may not get your message”. That was a No to me. Then the technician or medical assistant (wish I got her name; older woman) grabbed my wrist and threw it down on my lap as I was looking a text message for an answer to answer the question the doctor just asked me. ADVICE FOR ANY MATURE ADULT: don’t ever place your hands on someone without first verbally telling them, “can you put your hand, arm, leg, foot, etc. if the person cannot, ask first if you can place your hand on them to assist. Very rude and unacceptable. This was not a pleasant experience and I will be changing my doctor.

Dr. Castillo made me feel comfortable and not nervous about my visit. She answered my questions and I understood her input. I'm glad I have a doctor and answered my questions.

Dr. Castillo has been our family doctor for more than 10 years. I appreciate her thoroughness and her frankness. She is always up-to-date on the latest vaccines and public health issues. I have recommended her to many of my family and friends as the best doctor we have ever been seen by.

Dr Castillo has been my Dr for almost 25 years on and off. She is the best I’ve been to. Glad she moved back to NM. I follow her where ever she practices. Extremely thorough and caring.

Dr. Carolyn M. Castillo is a wonderful doctor. She did an extensive thorough exam. She took the time to talk to me about results and strategies to improve my health. She is extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to and straight forward. I feel I received great care and am truly appreciative.

Dr.Castillo is the best Dr. I have ever had. She takes so much time and interest in me. She wants more information as she sees an abomormal blood test. She goes the whole mile to treat me. Hope she doesn't leave us.

There are still some wonderful medical providers serving our community and Carolyn Castillo MD is at the top of that list. She is pretty much available to her patients all the time through messaging on the website for Lovelace patients. She is just wonderful!! I want to thank her for her service.

This was my initial visit and Dr. Castillo was direct, straight forward and very thorough. She spent a good long time with me and left no stone unturned!

I loved everything about my experience at Lovelace and most importantly, Dr. Castillo. I have never had a physician review my medical history in such detail (in person). Quite frankly, Dr. Castillo's probing questions revealed some interesting insight into some things that I had never considered before and explained some medical issues about which I have wondered for years. She is thorough, precise, caring and sneaks in some humor to boot. I am being contacted by Lovelace's referral system to schedule appointments with physicians in other specialties as my medical status requires (how easy is that?). Dr. Castillo has since personally phoned me twice to follow up on outstanding medical issues -- I have NEVER had that happen before. I was able to get my labs done and an x-ray completed in the same facility the same morning. I highly recommend Dr. Castillo and the Lovelace network!

Dr Castillo is very good doctor, she listens and is very thorough. I would recommend her anytime
