The place is like a factory. That colored my attitude. Then, Dr. Lujan made no attempt to say hello, introduce himself or greet me. Even when I said I had known his mother, I received a bland acknowledgement. Unfortunately I told him how I felt about patients sitting in the waiting room and being shouted at from the doorway to come forward. (One elderly lady went up to three different calls because they didn’t bother to assist her.). And they yell out a first name with no respect for a person’s dignity by saying “Mrs. Smith” or “Mr. Jones.” It is unforgiveable. And it could so easily be improved. I had a 9:00 am appointment and Dr Lujan (of course you don’t call the doctor by his first name) had already seen 15 patients. He was barely civil, and was pretty dismissive. After all, he said , “I am a surgeon.” (That was why I had called three times in the two weeks before to ask if he only did surgery and rec’d no reply.) Who knows if he is competent. I won’t be back.

Dismissive, asked me what orders he should write. He did not physically evaluate me, when questioned he said " I touched your hand. " Unprofessional, arrogant and very surprised NM Orthor. has this individual on staff. DO Not waste your time , he clearly did not want to be there.

Dr 'Donny,' as he likes to be called, is patronizing and arrogant. He made me wait over an hour every time I went to see him. He did not answer my questions or clearly explain my condition and options. I strongly suggest people look elsewhere.

Dr. Lujan is a master at his craft: repairing broken bones. He has excellent bedside manner and a great personality.

I shattered my elbow in a motorcycle accident. New Mexico Orthopedics was able to schedule me with Dr. Lujan on the very next business day, and my surgery involved piecing bones back together (and removing some that were too small to leave in place), then securing everything with a metal plate and 10 screws. I am convinced that his expertise and careful attention throughout my recovery resulted in a very good outcome, considering the severity of my injury. I've recommended him MANY times!

Allowed me to choose local anesthetic only. Provided enough pain medication to recover from surgeries— carpal tunnel release and trigger thumb. Listened to my concerns. Great support staff.

I had Dr. Lujan perform a fine I&D on my infected left hip. He did a masterful job in all regards: pre-op discussion and several post op meetings and appointments. TOP NOTCH! ++++++
