I'm am a 66 y/o male patient that came to Dr Eric Benson because I have bateral rotator cuff tears and a avulsed rt biceps tendon. I weight 276 lbs with a right AKA. Dr Benson refuses to do surgery because of my weight. He is a cherry picker, he doesn't want to tarnish his record, rather than help me in excruciating pain, its a no from me. He is not.a.doctor.thst does his medical path, he does harm by non ccommittal not because he is worried about .y well being it about his perfect record. He is cachet weasel.

My review under Newmike309 with a one star was a mistake I do not know how to reverse it and have not met Dr. Benson or has he operated on me. But by the looks of if with all other reviews seem like a great doc.

He is very kind and super competent! He is one of the few doctors I know who will call you at home if that is needed. The OT staff at UNM tell me he has had miraculously good outcomes in most of his patients he did surgery on.

Dr. Benson is a very skilled and of course knowledgeable surgeon whom I am grateful to have taking care of my shoulders. He responds to my questions and fully explains procedures and what is required. He is also very kind and caring. I would recommend him to anyone I care about.

I have seen Dr. Benson over the years for both shoulders. Dr. Benson I feel is knowledgeable and skilled and caring. When injections diminished in effectiveness we turned to surgery. I appreciate his skill and kindness, great attributes in a surgeon. I would never hesitate to recommend him.

No major issues other than wait time. I do understand there are many patients and only one of him so a wait time can be expected.

This man does not listen to his patients! Everyone receives the same adjustment no matter what the complaint. He spends less than three minutes with you and does not refer you for X-rays when they are needed! He adjusted my neck and caused me to need neck surgery the following week. He then said I was never in his office on the day that it happened. STAY AWAY FROM HIM!

I was seen for arthritis in my left shoulder- moderate and I am 50 yrs old. Dr. Benson immediately reccomended complete shoulder replacement. I hadn't even received one steroid injection. I told him no, and requested an injection. Second visit- same thing. Dr. Benson strongly pushed shoulder replacement-I told him the same thing and requested my 2nd steroid injection. I am now searching for another Sport's Medicine shoulder specialist.
