John Franco's Online Review Report Card

I've been seeing Dr Franco for years. He's done two surgeries, one on hip and one on knee. He's also done multiple injections in various joints. I trust Dr Franco more than I've trusted any other physician I've ever had. He's kind, compassionate and thorough. He explains things so you can understand. He takes all efforts to try non-invasive treatments and only does surgery if absolutely necessary. I wish he could be my Dr for every aspect of my health. Highly recommend

He did an emergency partial hip replacement on a Friday and came to visit me in the hospital the next day. He is awesome, caring, and explained both before the surgery and after

Thank you Dr. Franco. Dr. Franco gave me authorscopy on my knee and hip. He removed a large cyst and repaired a tear in my hip. I appreciate being able to walk easier and with out so much pain. He also has a good bedside manor. I am great full to you and to New Mexico Orthopedics!

I have not seen Dr. Franco yet but will soon. Just want to know if anyone has seen him for any type of hip endoscopic procedure? How did it turn out for them and how did they like the overall surgical experience? Thank you

Dr. Franco is an awesome MD!!! I have had knee surgery and shoulder surgery done by Dr. Franco. I had gone to other MD's for my knee and they wanted to do very invasive surgery, including a total knee replacement. Fortunately, I found Dr. Franco and he fixed my knee with an outpatient procedure and I was ambulating well and without pain in a short time. I am still recovering from my shoulder surgery, but doing well. He is very caring and compassionate about his job!

I was there for my 8:00 appointment at 7:30 am, and the first person in the waiting room. Dr. Franco was 65 minutes late when I walked out. He is rude and thoughtless about the time patients take out of their day to see him. I will never return to see him and I warn others about his being so unprofessional.

Due to a myriad of health problems, I have had many doctors, and I can tell you that Dr. Franco is the best one and it isn't close. He has performed two hip surgeries for me and possesses a unique ability to build a relationship with his patients and give the greatest care possible.

DR. Franco's staff was amazing, from setting up an appointment to everything after that was a great experience. Even the staff for my MRI were great. DR. Franco did a great job repairing my Meniscus and cleaning up my knee. my surgery was done on May 13, 2016. It's 3 months since my surgery and i feel no more pain or discomfort when i step and walk now. Before my surgery i was in a lot of pain. Thanks to the Dr. Franco for his professional touch i feel great.

Dr Franco performed a hip bone resurfacing surgery on my hip over a year ago and the end result has been very disappointing. Dr Franco convinced me that the pain in my lower back and hip was a result of an abnormality in my hip bone. He recommended shaving the bone and then repairing the soft tissue. He sold this surgery as a solution to the pain and as a way to save or delay a full hip replacement. He also sold it as a way to stay active run, bike etc. Long story short after the surgery he downplayed the amount of physical activity I would be able to do. It appears he overstated the track record he had with physically active patients. He deemed the surgery a success and didn't even take an xray or follow up scan. Over a year later the pain is much worse and my activity level is very limited. I feel he overstated the benefits of the surgery an does not have a system for tracking short/medium/long term success. I understand I could be experiencing this amount of pain without having had the surgery but a little over a year later there was no benefit to having had the surgery. I WOULD ONLY RECOMMEND THIS SURGERY AS A LAST RESORT, if you are still fairly active DO NOT HAVE THE SURGERY UNTIL YOU ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO DO THE THINGS YOU ENJOY. I feel the surgery shortened my window of being active but I have no way of proving it. At the very least it did not lengthen my window of activity and was expensive. I feel he is overstating and diagnosing the need for the surgery. Is he building a revenue stream or a practice with the patients needs at the forefront?

Dr. Franco was able to diagnose my hip pain when no other doctor could. Better yet--he fixed the problem! He also remedied my husband's knee problems, after 4 previous surgeries failed to help. I recommend Dr. Franco hands down and as often as I can.
