Matthew Patton's Online Review Report Card

I am shocked and confused as to why Dr. Matthew Patton didn't remove the cyst (or whatever it is) during the surgery on June 26th, 2023. The only purpose for the surgery was to remove it. It's still there in my hand.

I had the privilege of being under the care of Dr. Matthew Patton at NM Orthopedics, and I cannot speak highly enough of his surgical expertise, exceptional post-operative care, and the amazing staff at the clinic. From the moment I met Dr. Patton, his confidence and knowledge were evident. He thoroughly explained the surgical procedure and answered all my questions, alleviating any concerns I had. The surgery itself exceeded my expectations, and I am grateful for the skill and precision with which Dr. Patton operated. What truly sets Dr. Patton apart is his exceptional post-operative care. His detailed instructions and guidance were far superior to what I had found through my own research online. He took the time to ensure that I understood the recovery process and provided me with the tools to optimize my healing. In addition to Dr. Patton's expertise, I must commend the amazing staff at NM Orthopedics. From the receptionists to the nurses, everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. They made me feel comfortable and supported throughout my entire journey, from the initial appointment to the post-operative follow-ups. Now, almost a year since my surgery, I couldn't be happier with the results. My arm have regained its functionality, thanks to Dr. Patton's expertise and the outstanding care provided by the staff at NM Orthopedics. In conclusion, I am immensely grateful to Dr. Matthew Patton and the amazing staff at NM Orthopedics for the exceptional care I received. If you are seeking an expert in elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand surgeries, Dr. Patton is the surgeon to trust. The dedicated and compassionate staff at NM Orthopedics will ensure that you receive the highest level of care throughout your entire treatment process.

Dr Patton is a wonderful surgeon. I am so grateful for his knowledge and bed side manor. He will do his best to find an option that will work for you.

Dr. Patton always takes time to explain any questions I may have and doesn't waste my time as I have so little. He always looks out for my best interests to obtain optimal results. I highly recommend Dr. Patton.

A huge thank you to Dr. Matt Patton. I just had surgery on Thursday March 17th, I feel great! The first couple of nights I had a little bit of pain and discomfort (to be expected). As the weekend progressed I am pleased to say I have followed orders! I have done some excercises, and feel great! I highly recommend Dr. Matthew Patton for your orthopedic needs.

I felt like I was wasting his time. He spent about 9 minutes with me. Gave me my diagnosis of carpal tunnel and osteoarthritis and said to come back to see him when I couldn’t stand the pain and it was time for surgery. I was asking him questions and he walked to the door to leave. He stopped to answer what he thought was my last question and left. He did not address the synovial cyst that needs to be surgically removed. I won’t be going back for any of my surgeries.

He seems very knowledgeable, but his bedside manner is very poor. He ordered an x-ray on a soft tissue injury, which was completely unnecessary. He spent a total of 2.5 minutes in the room with me talking to me like I was undereducated. Continuously explaining that he will not do surgery, which was not what I wanted anyway. He did not allow me to speak, nor did he give me any instructions. Very poor communication abilities which is a hard stop for me in the future, and will make sure people know.

He was a know it all and overall, rude. Only surgery could help me, didn't even offer me a shot. I was in agony so I had the surgery. I was his 5th patient at 10:00 in the morning! Ridiculous! The surgical orders were written incorrectly (surgery to be performed on BOTH hands) not just my left. When I pointed it out to him he just shrugged his shoulders, "I wonder how that happened." How? incompetence, that's how! Can you imagine, this is right before surgery! I was in absolute AGONY after the surgery. My thumb is frozen, won't budge and it's been almost 2 years POST surgery. I DID ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DO and went to therapy ASAP and for 8 months. I still have pain and numbness up my arm. He made the arthritis WORSE in my fingers. Can't wear my wedding rings because knuckles are enlarged! In addition, the screws in my hand are very painful and bothersome and need to come out. He NEVER explained this to me before surgery. Do yourself a favor and RUN for the hills.

He thoroughly explained what was going on with my issue. He also explained the treatment and allowed me to choose. I opted for the second treatment which was quick and almost stress free. He is awesome!

So knowledgeable, friendly, and energetic. The office is a machine—efficient yet personable. Dr Patton simply gets the job done! (And he’s a snappy dresser!)
