Doctor is very professional. Staff actually seem happy to work. Check it out y'all.
My 2 years at FCCH on William Street have been heartbreaking. Dr Pentecost has been my MD, and she has been very attentive and super professional in so many ways - in terms of medical care, and she’s very humble and very dedicated. But the referrals process is largely broken. And Dr Pentecost seems overwhelmed by that, aware there are problems, but not at all clear - even though she’s also the medical director of the clinic - on what she can do about it. Meanwhile, the clinic manager, Nancy Gonzales, gave me loads of assurances that she would improve things, and that she welcomed input on issues I - and likely other patients - have been having with the referral system, but then Nancy, who has the primary administrative role at this clinic, has dropped the ball and made excuses repeatedly, and also contradicted herself - she doesn’t seem committed to internal improvements - or is she? Nancy gives lots and lots and lots of mixed messages. And i’m sure that Dr. Pentecost mostly just wants to practice medicine. It seems that Dr. Pentecost as Medical Director and Nancy Gonzales as Clinic Office Manager just can’t find a way to collaborate on working out referral problems; they seem to have problems hiring + training + retaining really good referrals staff. This may be an issue post-COVID, or First Choice Community Clinics overall just not paying enough - i don’t know - but it’s heartbreaking bc Dr Pentecost, who has dedicated her career to helping low-income patients, plus advancing lifestyle medicine alongside standard medical care, might thrive more in a more positive clinic environment. Perhaps Nancy G and Dr P need more resources from this chain of clinics, perhaps they just haven’t found a way to solve referral issues, perhaps they’re just inconsistent in solving small problems and then building momentum from there - my sense is that it might be all three.
Took to long for a appointment.
The front desk and referral desk staff are friendly and helpful! Great experience! Love my PCP Rebeca Mendoza-Gomez! Knowledgeable and thorough!!
Dr Pentecoot is the best doctor I've ever had. She's takes her time. She listens. I always felt no matter what ailed me she was there to help me get better.
Great service, excellent help, sliding scale payments affordable.
Horrible service. I have been going to this clinic for about 6 years and I swear every time is worse. I haven't gone because of lazyness, but I am definitely changing to another provider. I had a UTI last week, an infection, and they wanted me to wait a week for seeing a doctor (I don't even remember her name because they keep changing it every time) so I could get antibiotics prescription. I don't understand how could they expect me to survive for a week with an infection spreading and pain, and only taking AZO. The only thing they tell me is to keep calling early in the morning to see if an appointment has been cancelled. When I finally get to talk to a doctor (already 2 days with the UTI), doctor sends me to lab for a urine test and sends the order for antibiotics. Fine. I go do my test and they tell me they will call me with results. More than a week has passed and I haven't heard from no one. Yet I took medicine and it happens to cause me an intense fever. And guess what, I am literally auto diagnosing myself reading in Google about antibiotics that cause fever because I don't wanna be mistreated by the rude people who answer the phone or the doctors that, in my opinion, lack of any kind of actual human empathy. I bet that if I tell them what's going on, what I have found out, they would try to cancel me and tell me not to read stuff from the internet, but I don't even wanna go back there. Horrible experience with First Choice. I do not recommend.
Terrible service from the ladies at the front desks. When asked for assistance in a different language they will immediately hung up the call with no explanation whatsoever. Upper management should really look at replacing these ladies, who seem like they are in desperate need of a break. Very rude and condescending with patients.
horrible horrible "customer service" (Females in the front and that answer the phone) they are rude rude rude, if they are not happy with their profession , they should find another! My daughter has tried to see Dr ? on different occasions for my grandson that is sick. (not with covid) she diagnoses him through the phone without seeing? and prescribes medicine. I understand the protocal for covid I to work in healthcare for the elderly! so before he can be seen, he has to to get tested for covid, that should not be the issue if all healthcare workers are vaccinated! so today my grandson gets covid test , the female testing for covid did not change her PPE before testting 3 other veivhles parked behind my daughter! so if my grandson happens to have covid she just passed it to the viechles behind her! does that make sense? there is something wrong with this America!
Going through this provider at first was a bad experience and possibly from effect of covid but efforts improved after time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
