List of David P Goldstein's Reviews
Dr. David has seen my brother for years with ms as it has progressed. My brother has a care taker who is questionable. Drives a 550 AMG and has 2 of them in my brothers garage. My brother is out of it. His caretaker, Paul mMendoza, is now stealing from my brother. I contacted Dr. DavidGoldstein because there was all these bills from him that were never opened and hidden from my brother. I was threatened last Christmas Eve by my brothers care taker who is stealing money from my brother slowly. David told me years after seeing over 300k of cars from my brothers care taker to contact him if I ever felt my brothers safety was in danger. I just did 3 weeks ago and he did nothing. This is against the law and ethics. I hope David is not in the ring to take my brothers assets as his caretaker is. Paul Mendoza is the name he uses. Paul Mendoza Ibanez?? He has many phone numbers and addresses. Even used my brothers address. Claims to be an RN in 2017. This guy is very smart and street smart but has never attended an institution of higher learning. His son is in his second yr. at Berkley, Jean paul. John Paul?? I have his phone number. His son is on scholarship. They do not report their correct income to the iRS. His mother is also a caretaker. Hmmm...God help you David. Shame on you! This is for Dr David Goldstein in LA Ca. On Wilshire Blvd.
Rude, condescending and lacking conscience. When i was having pain, he simply ignored my request to be gentle and suggested i go to another doctor next time. (And no, i was not being difficult. I asked the other doctor afterwards as well.)
I've been seeing Dr. G for a few years and have been very happy with the care I've received. He is knowledgeable, demonstrates excellent understanding of my issues, and compassion for me as a person.
Not likely. Rude and insensitive to patient's well being. Makes rude comments to patients about to go into surgery In front of student nurses, nurses, other patients and family members waiting for their loved one. He thinks he's funny when he demeans you and never apologized for getting the patient upset prior to surgery. Luckily the patient was scheduled with another anesthesiologist otherwise the likelihood of patient was slim. Hard to trust a dr who blatantly tells you he doesn't care".
I have been a patient of Dr. Goldsteins' for a number of years now. I had previously been to approximately 9 doctors until I found Dr. Goldstein. My previous doctors could not seem to agree on a diagnosis and I tried 12 different medications! Needless to say this was very frustrating and I was feeling very hopeless and desperate as I suffer from panic disorder and depression. I finally found Dr. Goldstein and I can honestly say that he literally helped saved my life.
Dr. David Goldstein is a fabulous doctor, though some might find him robotic and quiet , consider that even though he is a doctor he may also be shy at first with his patients as he is a human being first and foremost.Dr Goldstein has gone out of his way to make sure I have stayed safe in two of my worst nervous breakdowns, mainly major depressive episodes that were too severe for me to come in to see him. Dr Goldstein returned my calls , assured me at anytime I could not get ahold of him he would have an on call Dr. Available, and made sure that I continued to consistently take my medication. We have faced some disagreements as he has pushed my comfort zone (which is good for me!) instead of prescribing me another med, and got down to the nitty gritty reality that much of my treatment relies on not just medication but on doing the work necessary, (which he promptly reminded me when I informed him I quit psychotherapy) The man truly cares, especially if you are genuine and make an effort to show you are invested in getting help and making a connection with your treatment team. He works with my therapist, my general practioner, monitors my refills (I'm a recovering addict) and has given me MORE than extra support and reached out to me personally at no extra charge. If you are looking for a psychiatrist that understand though medication in most cases is more than crucial, but still understands that medication is not the ONLY form of crucial treamtent needed to help rehabilitate psychiatric disorders and mental illnesses of all kinds, (including day treatment , spiritual life, meditation, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, Trauma Processings and Therapies such as EMDR, and even give the harsh truth that it's time for residential treatment, and you want a doctor that can guide you through your healing process every step, Goldstein is your guy. Occasionally disorganized , monotone, and forgetful? Yes. Diligent, Thourough, Understanding, Thoughtful and IMMENSELY INTELLIGENT ? More than you could know until you work with him. Thank you Dr. David Goldstein, you have helped two other generations of women in my family and now I ; stay determined and focused on not giving into the hopelessness , the multiple diagnosis', the relapse, and the false and irrational beliefs I am a warrior against. Thank you for being on my team in this battle
I went in to be re-diagnosed for ADHD and to get medication for it and every step of the process with this guy was irritating when he called to schedule the appointment he sounded annoyed then finally when the appointment day came I went in the waiting room and waited for my 12:30 appointment time when it finally hit time i got antsy but figured he was just running late with a patient by 12:50 i was done waiting i could hear him in the back but not talking so i just walked back to find him just sitting at his desk reading a book so he went "oh right are you Austin?" then we started the appointment finally and it was literally an hour of robotic questions he was reading off some page and it just felt like it would never end then at the end he told me yes i need medication and he wrote me a prescription and i was ready to give him my insurance card but all he wanted was my credit card and said they bill in full then will send a receipt which i use to send in to my insurance company like seriously? It felt like garbage at first and it sucked i wasn't prepared to pay that much but whatever i paid and left with my prescription but the problems didn't stop there i went straight to my pharmacy at Palo Alto Medical Foundation in mountain view and they said they wouldn't accept the prescription that the doc needs to call them and give approval but they would hold on to it until he calls. So i called him everyday for a week and so did the pharmacy with no answer until Friday he calls me late at night around 8:30 pm and asked me what i wanted and who this was. so obviously he doesn't listen to his voicemail's. I told him and he went oh ok i will give them a call tomorrow. So great i was away over the weekend so today 4/17 called my pharmacy and still no word from him so i went back to his office to talk with him but he was backed up with patients ( poor suckers if only they knew) so i left to my car and called him one last time and told him i demand my money back and i called his billing department and told them the same. then went back to my pharmacy cause i needed to know what to do they said that honestly they have been having these exact problems with this doctor a lot and that its a very simple call he needs to make and that they will keep trying to reach him but to basically find another doctor cause hes a mess. So my final thing i'm doing to at least prevent another person from falling for this guys scam is i filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and am posting this on Yelp.
My experience with Dr Goldstein was very negative, unfortunately. He was recommended by the midwife practice Bay Area Maternity when I showed symptoms of postpartum depression. First of all, Dr Goldstein was extremely difficult to get in touch with on the phone-we played phone tag for about a week. Finally we reached each other and made an appointment . His office was messy and dusty, and the desk was covered with papers. For someone who was in the middle of a crisis and visiting a psychiatrist for the first time, it was not a very reassuring setting. His beside manner also was very lacking in my opinion. I found him to be very robotic, and most of the appointment consisted of him asking me questions directly from a questionnaire where every single question started with the phrase "has there ever been a time when you weren't quite yourself" or something like that. Then he diagnosed me with depression and prescribed me anti depressants. He read off a long list of possible side effects, which was intimidating. I asked whether I should keep taking my sleep medication since I'd had terrible insomnia. He laughed and said I wouldn't need them anymore. The whole experience was so upsetting that I put off taking the medication for another three weeks, and then finally found another psychiatrist to get another opinion. She was much more personable and communicative, and she has an emergency number for urgent questions, which was much more reassuring. I've now made a full recovery. I wouldn't recommend Dr Goldstein, especially for postpartum.
I've seen Dr. Goldstein for many years for drug checkins (he evaluates me, decides if I should continue on my drugs). He is a little quiet at first, but really smart and much warmer after the initial quiet. Someone mentioned the billing thing - pay first, then bill your insurance - that's pretty standard these days. His prices are actually a little lower than my daughter's psychiatrist. I think he's great! Thank you Dr. Goldstein!
This Dr. Also has a San Jose location on the Alameda. For the most part I liked him and he was easy to talk too...I would have liked to continue seeing him but he has odd billing that I just couldn't afford. He charges for each appt his normal fee $200+ for the evaluation and $100+ for each visit which u pay in total. He then sends you an invoice that you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement and I totally get its a great system for him. Just not so great for those people who cant afford to pay that much each visit. I need the copay system...I'm poor. I also have been having reimbursement issues with the insurance company with this method. (i.e. Have not been reimbursed) He also did not tell me of his billing practice till the end of the first session...Ok, lesson learned, I now ask about billing and am now currently looking for a new psychatrist :(
