Dr. Hernandez performed surgery by replacing both lenses in my eyes. He is very kind and cares about his patients. If you need eye surgery I would highly recommend Dr Edward Hernandez. He's the best!

This is my first time to be living in an area with a doctor shortage and without question, Dr. Hernandez has the best credentials. He may even be the ONLY locally based ophthalmologist. It may be due to his being overworked that he and some of his back-office staff is officious. I was verbally worked over for getting my drops wrong for one day and forgetting to bring in both my drops and chart. When I protested Dr. Hernandez said, "Well, we don't know you!" I was seeing him for the tenth time and was there for the 1 week after my Second cataract surgery. He also said, "You could go BLIND!" No, I don't think getting drops wrong once will make me go blind. I am writing this 3 days later and I am still upset and dreading my next appointment.

Dr. Hernandez was very professional. He did an awesome job at removing some very bad cataracts from both of my eyes. I can now see very well and I am very grateful for such a great surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Hernandez.

Beware of making an appointment with Dr. Hernandez of Eyes of the Southwest! As for me, Dr. Hernandez did not keep it. My appointment was made well in advanced for July 18, at 2:00 pm. The office asked me to sign in by 1:30 pm. I signed it at about 1:20 pm. At about 2:30 pm I asked the office as to why I have to wait so long. No explanation or an excuse. While I had been waiting, I watched patients arriving at the office, being called in and leaving the office again. After complaining several times, I finally told the office at about 3:15 pm that I would leave at 3:30 pm if I would not have been called by 3:30 pm. And sure enough, at 3:30 pm I requested the return of my paperwork and left the office of Eyes of the Southwest without having been seen by Dr. Hernandez. This appointment was a referral visit prepared in advanced by my own eye doctor, who had sent all my files and his findings to Dr. Hernandez.
