Dr. Barrantes is a jewel to the medical community and the world. He is extremely passionate about his work, knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate. He has been so dedicated and working diligently to help me find a balance for my medication. He is the only reason I am on my way to health. I am so grateful he is my doctor. He gives the medical field a good name. Thank you so Dr. Barrantes for who you are.

I have had 2 other nephrologists before Dr. Barrantes-Ramirez. I am puzzled at the two 1-star reviews. Not only is this doctor extremely knowledgeable, but he genuinely listens and is compassionate. More importantly to me, he doesn't hesitate to address a problem with definite action. I would recommend Dr. Ramirez very highly.

I have had 8 visits with Dr. Barrantes. He is one of the best doctors I've encountered. If it takes a bit longer in the waiting room, it's only because he is dedicated to spending time with each patient. He is compassionate, trustworthy and intelligent. I have no doubt he's helping me keep kidney function as long as possible.

Indifferent and apathetic to patients and their needs. Unwilling to listen, and take time with patients. The staff are also rude and inexperienced.

I will never see this doctor again. Not personable, would NOT accept my BP records and NOT interested in what I had to say. He changed my BP med and prescribed a med at an extremely high dose that made me so sick with reactions I thought I was going to die. HORRIBLE REACTION!
