William Adler's Online Review Report Card

I found out I had a tumor in my lung the size of a lime after a trip to the ER for back & chest pain. Immediately looked up who the so-called best hospitals in the country were, found a place in Houston (leaving name out) spent 15 days there as an outpatient with absolutely no clear plan or prognosis other than they figured I had about 6 months to live with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. I went home, found Dr. Adler who is nothing short than a gift from God along with Dr. Call the Radiation oncologist. I'm from NYC, lived down the block from Sloan Kettering, visited many people there, many recovery stories, yet the way I have been treated, the ability to have a constructive conversation and be a part of the treatment plan during its formation has proved to me that I would have wasted a plane ticket if I had given Sloan a try. Needless to say I am beyond the death date I was given in Houston & though it is a fight to stay ahead of Cancer, with Dr.Adler in my corner I am still alive & Kicking

He does know what he's doing. He is very good at staying up on the latest treatments and alternative treatments. So glad to have him as my oncologist.

Very positive experience. Dr. Adler is very professional, and also very kind and has a very pleasant manner . I felt very comfortable with him , he explained things in a manner that was very clear to me.

It's disheartening to write this post. Patients beware! Cancer is already an awful experience. It is made worse when a treatment a patient is receiving is causing joint paint. The treatment, Herceptin, is well-known to cause joint pain. Yet, when this issue is brought up to Dr. Adler he continually refutes and either says it's rheumatoid arthritis or backtracks and says it's weight-related. Very arrogant doctor.

No compassion, treated me like an idiot. Did not feel the need to explain what was going on and blew me off when I asked questions. Going through cancer is tramatic on it's own but having a doctor with no empathy makes it even worse.

The entire office from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors, in my case Greenfield, are extremely responsive, professional, polite, knowledgeable, and personal.

Our experience with Dr Adler was very positive. He is very knowledgeable, high-level professional. It was easy to talk to him. He was for us when we needed him. He was recommended by doctors in Phoenix where my wife had an operation. They knew him and recommended him.

Dr. Adler entered exam room shook my hand but looked down his nose at my spouse (like what are you doing here). Did not want her to speak. Informed me of diagnosis then said you have a lot to think about but never left the room to allow us to discuss what we wanted to do. Decided to pursue course of treatment then the rush was on to get everything scheduled (dollar signs as Medicare and secondary insurance). The worst was when the MRI was scheduled to determine if cancer had spread to brain but no follow-up appt made with Dr. Adler for results. Upon arriving home and having time to think we canceled ALL appts and yet we still received confirmation calls regarding pic line installation, MRI, patient coordination/office manager appts. Which we had canceled. They do not take NO or canceling very well and put the cart before the horse.

Smart doctor, but not willing to explain results in detail.

I would without hesitation recommend Dr. William Adler to any family member or friend needing an oncologist. Dr.Adler is an extremely caring, intelligent, careful physician.He is always positive, while cautiously diagnosing any challenges which may occur.
