Denise Aamodt's Online Review Report Card

She is the most caring and compassionate doctor of any I've ever been to. She believes in listening to her patients. She assisted my husband with seeing a neurologist that we would have otherwise been on a waiting list to see for a year. She is also very knowledgeable. I'm not the only person who has had this experience. Others have as well! She is just wonderful. My husband and I have so many challenges to face with his condition, but we are comforted we no longer have to search for a good PCP or a good neurologist. We have both. We feel fortunate in this.

This doctor is unethical and malicious. She dropped me, staff said she not taking patients w pain. Then her manager was huge problem, not educated in patient rights. She used expensive pharmacist making a killing to prescribe neurontin and Cymbal, who never ordered drugs and cost to Medicare out if sight. Think Medicare put foot down on her. She refused to renew even my thyroid med until could find new doctor, hard un this high crime area where goid docs leaving. My attorney had to write her to rx my needed meds. He told me to sue her. Used I had. Years later after returning from living in Florida for 5 years, tried new dactor with Optum and she did not honor HIPPA and he wanted to see a emergency report from 8 yrs later. Did not gI've permission. Was without the meds she suddenly stopped and was upset when went to ER. She violated my rts and then blamed me for withdraw symptoms. Nasty doctor would not even advice for handwriting sinks in exam rooms. Cheap .Forced to and had to spend money. Think she blamed me so punishing me. I never reported her but someone did. She said the pump sanitizer sufficient after rectal and vaginal exams. Is not. Told her did not want someone's dead cells in me. Am RN and know poor practice. She had low standards overall. She tried ti get me dropped from current provider by telling me to violate my agreement for pain meds and go to ER to fill in for another doctor in group she got assigned to me. She is nasty and does not understand basic standards of care.

Dr. Amid runs a third world office. She saw no need for handwash sinks in exam rooms. Said the hand sanitizer sufficient. Don't want another's t dead cells on my body. Not adequate. Unsanitary. Patients have no immediate access to wash hands. Violates HIPPA and shares info with Optum without patient release. She dropped me w/o notice. Her manager like a jail warden. Would not give me reason but another office staff said she was checked by Medicare for using expensive Pharmacists to rx non controlled drugs for pain. Denied my renewal of thyroid medicine. Refused to issue letter or talk w me while dropping me. Learned now she rx hydrocodone 10mg for a patient??. Had to have lawyer write her a letter, needed to take continuously w no breaks. He told me to file lawsuit against her. She is obese and does not help overweight patients. She is not the top of the example of medical care. Feel she skipped medical school. Represented herself to be an Internal Medicine doctor but was only family practice. Refused to acknowledge I had Peripheral Neuropathy to cover for another Lovelace doctor who told me to keep takin statin and ignored my side effect. I was going into rabdomylisis, learned through research on Internet, brown urine smells different. She never did necessary lab test nor referred me to Neurologist for eval. She now part if Optum and was part if group who dumped me. Each member if her group u have violations of medical practice and fraud, billing for exams to Medicare that never happened, and denying med pain for four days til my Practioner til return from sick days for partner. That doc saw me 10 minutes, then put diagnosis of Aggressive Behavior for asking for option after denying 5mg Hydrocodone for constant pain. Put retaliatory diagnosis that meant drug seeker. Had this 10 yrs now. After she quit me a doc in Pres. Asked how I sleep. Told her up til 5 am rocking at bedside in pain She rx me hydrocodone 5 mg where I have stayed. Amodt ineffective, uninformed, incompetent, and cruel no empathy, covers malpractice by doctors in her group, making patient appear to be the problem. Unethical.

Dr. Aamodt is fantastic. I was so frustrated with my previous GP and I am very please with Dr. A. She is attentive and very responsive to patient's messages/concerns via the med patient portal. I highly recommend!!

Dr Aamodt has been my primary care physician for over 20 years. She is professional, caring, thorough and thoughtful. I truly believe she is a brilliant doctor and hope she continues to practise in my local for the rest of my life.

Dr. Aamodt is very competent, professional and caring . She answers any concerns and questions I may have and explains things patiently and clearly. I have complete confidence in Dr. Aamodt!

This doctor is actually HORRIBLE. I had to see a general doctor to get a referral. She said she would follow up with a referral a few hours after our appointment. Weeks later she still has never sent over a simple referral. I have called the office 5 times now and am always put through a call center and 7 lines of hell never actually followed through on anything we discussed in our appointment.

Dr. Aamodt is so caring and so helpful. I’ve been seeing her for years and hopefully for many more years.

This doctor is a very strange person. She thought using hand alcohol gel was sufficient substitute for hand washing in her office after all physical exams, since she did not want to put in hand washing sinks in her exam rooms. I told her I did not want dead cells from other patients on my body. She ended up having to install them, and during the same time had a new manager who was extremely rude and did not know patient rights. I was told I was being dropped because she did "not have pain doctors" anymore and did not want patients with pain. Then the office manager denied that so I asked for a letter to explain why I was being dropped. Her manager became very nasty and would not let me talk to Dr. Aamodt why she was dropping me. The manager said she did not need to have a reason and refused that Dr. Aamodt renew my levothyroxine, Cymbalta and Lyrical that was being prescribed by he "pain doctors" for peripheral neuropathy. I learned they were actually pharmacists whom she said were "pain doctors". They never did any tests between their "management" , evaluations that were held in a broom closet size office with barely room for a desk and two chairs. They were being reimbursed huge payment by Medicare for their prescribing and likely gotten dropped by Medicare when they learned they were pharmacists. I thought she was mad she had to install hand wash sinks, since I had brought it up and blamed me. I am a retired RN and felt it was a failure on her part to protect her patients. They told me to go to emergency room to get my standing medications renewed. The sudden lack of Cymbalta had severe side effects and I felt sick and very anxious. She did not care when I told her office. I had to have my attorney write Dr. Aamodt a letter to get her to write orders to continue my medications until I found another doctor. He suggested I file a law suit against her. Wished I had. Well she has now been added on my Follow My Health with Optum when she is not a Optum doctor! And again I was told to get a renewal of pain med from ER when my NP was on vacation, and I did not have coverage during her absence. Aamodts list of medications stated I had been prescribed Codiene for pain which was false. That had been written in the record after we parted. I never had controlled substance when under her care. Odd as she is not even a Optum doc and on my Follow my Health portal?? Maybe because she has violated HIPPA federal law by releasing my record from 2007 to Optum, all my lab results, and medications, adding one which I was never prescribed by her, Codeine. Trying to enter incorrect info that I was seeking opiates, and will be getting copies of those records. A discrediting character assignation would not be out of her realm since I protested in HIPPA laws being violated.. Why did she add that into my record. She gave Optum all my records like blood work, medications, etc. In direct violation of HIPPA laws. I did not sign a release for her to do so. It appears she was the doctor who told me to get my pain med from ER while my NP was on vacation needing coverage until the next week when she returned. Aamopdt was involved in my record and orders when she was not even a Optum doctor!! Going to ER to get renewed of my 5 mg oxycodone would violates the agreement they require I sign when receiving controlled meds. My peripheral neuropathy has progressed in the last several years since I last saw her, and I now get 5 mg oxycodone, better off Neurontin and Cymbalta as had a fall and broke bones in my hand with Aamodts orders. Trying to give the impression 5 mg controlled substance, lowest dose there is makes me a "drug seeker" is just too abusive. The diagnosis of "drug seeker " has been added to my record since her name added on Follow My Chart. she is listed on Optum, and I have demanded she not be involved as my Practitioner due to her earlier abuse. Actually she had med overmedicated and I had to stop my Assisted Living business due to her medications made me doze off all the time. It was devastating to my self supporting business. She is not a very responsible doctor and is reckless in her care of her patients. She should have advocated for hand washing sinks in her exam rooms. She did not want to spend the money. She thought I was the one who reported her to Medicare for that lack of modern standards of patient care, like hand wash sinks in exam rooms. Patients too need to wash their hands after examinations and had to touch the door knobs to run across the hall to wash our hands. She is a third world style practitioner. I directed her to remove her name from my record as my physician but it remains. She has no business having orders in my care when I have opposed it. Her medical knowledge seems to lack interest in understanding patients needs and symptoms. She won't counsel you if you are overweight since she is very much so, and needs to be an example to patients.

I love my doctor she truly care about her patients. I appreciate her. She is amazing.
