List of Neal Hermanowicz's Reviews
The best bedside manner doctor with excellent caring communication skills. He listens, is curious, educated and smart.
Mr. Hermanowicz took over my treatment while my normal dr of over 3 years was on sabbatical. I am a pain patient. I was call d in 4 days before my refill date and 26 days before my next appointment, and told if I did not attend I would not be given a refill. I ended up going with my 104-degree temp’d 4 year old in tow. Mr. H had me pegged apparently before he walked through the door and was keen on the new CDC regulations that had just hit 5 weeks prior (and that were later revised as physicians were forcing patients truly in need off the only medication that made them function) I was given my first random drug test that day outside of job interviews. This after over 10 years of RESPONSIBLE and NECESSARY opiate usage with documentation of eeg’s, emg’s, mri’s, a muscle biopsy and a NEUROSTIMULATOR IMPLANT. My dose had not changed in over 3 years. He just wanted me off their books. The pain clinic he referred me to wouldn’t take me. I was effectively abandoned.
Felt like talking to someone on a high throne, very distant, almost snotty...him being a UCI doctor (he demands respect) kinda thing. I also had another unpleasant experience with another UCI neurologist before seeing this doctor. Anyway, too expensive relative to the quality of care that i got back...I'm moving on.
Dr. Hermanowicz has been my husband's doctor for the past two years. I had been to several doctors with the same informaton and timeline with my husband's Parkinson's symptoms. Of course I didn't know what it was but he confirmed it on his first visit. And he was right. My husband's Parkinson's has progressed and his symptoms are textbook symptoms. Regarding appointment wait time. It's well worth it. Max is 20 minutes.
I like Dr. Hermanowicz himself. It is the medical billing he is associated with that it the reason I am giving this a 1 star. They are scandolous and rape their patients over billing. If you want to pay $500/visit to see him to get your botox injections with great insurance then by all means go ahead. I have great insurance that is a PPO and a non-profit hospital UC Irvine that he is associated with will charge you this and then not tell you how to get discounts and no co pay.
Dr. Hermanowicz is a fine doctor. He is easy going but that's not indifference. He listens, but he expects patients o be active in their treatment plan. He is genial as well as smart. I would recommend him wholeheartedly.
I had a horrible follow up appointment with him. It was my second visit and he was curt, cold and basically told me to get out of his office when I was only asking for help with a diagnosis. I left feeling very upset and was no further along in finding out what was wrong with me. Please read the other reviews, his bed side manner is horrific. He shouldn’t be practicing medicine.
Excellent care of my father
Phoned to make an appointment on May 1st 2017. Star was supposed to phone me back to make the appointment. On May 4th still no response, I contacted UCI with a complaint. They again forwarded my info and I was told she would phone me very soon. It is now May 10th, and still no response. So sorry to say I can not recommend this Dr cause I never got to see him! I made an appointment with another neurologist.
Had a terrible experience with Dr. Hermanowicz. Feel fortunate to have found a different neurologist who is actually invested in knowing and talking to her patients, and whom effectively treats my condition. Dr. Hermanowicz misdiagnosed me, and spoke rudely of my previous neurologist. He was condescending, aloof, and self-important. Waited months for an appt and I'm glad I changed neurologists after meeting him. Terrible personality and communication skills.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
