This guy has been board eligible as opposed to board certified for 35 years. This means that he has never been able to pass the board certification test. This should serve as a very large blinking neon sign which states AVOID !!! at all costs !

I met Dr Carreon in 1996. I had been to 6 other Ortho surgeons for my right knee, which kept buckling. After a total of 5 months of PT, I was beyond frustrated. Dr Carreon made me a deal: I would do 2 more weeks of PT and if the problem still existed, he would scope the knee. This was to ensure the insurance saw we tried everything before going to surgery. Sure enough, we went to surgery. Turned I had a total rupture if the ACL. Being a tennis player, my leg muscles were so strong that it hid the most obvious signs of the tear and 2 MRI's missed it was well. I had to do 6 weeks of PT before the repair surgery in order to have the strongest leg possible going into surgery. The surgery went very well and I graduated from PT in 9 months instead of the usual 11-12. 25 years later, I've twisted that knee several times. However, the ACL repair remains string. One radiologist noted that it was one of the best repairs that he had ever seen because it was achored so well to maximize range of motion and minimize wear and rear on the tendon graft. If Dr Carreon had not listened and not cared about the knee not getting better, I would have no closure to the problem. He truly listens to his patients and finds solutions for what is troubling you. Thank you Dr Carreon!!!
