Dr. Sugar was curt, rude, condescending and less than helpful AT BEST. After exchanging salutations he promptly went on a rant about the governor and masks. **HE IS AN IMMUNOLOGIST** As if we see him solely for his insight into how stupid we/I are/am (yes he said stupid, very medical term) for wearing a mask once vaccinated. SIR I AM HERE FOR MY IMMUNE SYSTEM ISSUES. I dont raw dog it in public EVER. He made multiple inappropriate comments. He would ask questions and then sneer at my answers, cut me off. I had allergy tests done and was told I had one allergy only...then for 3 days my arm swole up with big welts. Not just one. I have gone twice to Quest for blood tests abd they havent done anything to send the orders. I have tried. Quest has tried. I was hoping it was just Dr.Sugar who was an issue but the staff arent much more helpful either. The bedside manner of the Dr left much to be desired. The communication issues with the staff leave much to be desired. Thanks so much guys....I really needed the tests for the oncologist...that I dont have....cause I cant get an order. :|
0*s in my book! You can see by all of my Yelp reviews all have been extremely kind, I have not one kind thing to say about this man. He treated me as if I were stupid. He knew NOTHING about my genetic disease at which he should be a little aware. His bedside manner, well, he has NONE! Dont go see him!
This man is the worst man I have ever had to deal deal with I had just come out of the hospital I was trying to figure out what was wrong with me I was on pet prednisone because of my rheumatoid arthritis and he told me that my rheumatoid arthritis was causing me to go crazy he started yelling at me seriously in the office and he went like bananas so I stood outside he told me to get out of his office so I did and I was standing where all of his employees are waiting for him to give me my medicine so that I wouldnt break out in these hives that were sending me to the hospital and when he came back he said will you go back in my office please and I said no I wontAllow you to yell and degrade me like you did before you block the door and you wouldnt let me out when I asked theres no way that Im gonna go back in the office with you and he said please will you go back in the office with me and so I went in and grab my medicine he said he was sorry everybody has a bad day I get it but when I come in or anybody else comes in because they have a problem a doctor should not be yelling at the top of his lungs to his patients he really needs to retire and start trying to live a real life. PS Dr. sugar this is for you I found out what the problem was it wasnt the prednisone it was the freaking doctor
I don't think Dr. Sugar needs a wonderful yelp review, as I know his practice has been around for awhile and has been very favorable with prior patients, but wanted to give a big thumbs up. After experiencing terrible allergies, the office staff got me in as quickly as possible. Dr. Sugar and his assistant Neidy were terrific. Dr. Sugar took his time assessing my situation, testing my potential allergies, and giving me wonderful suggestions in trying to solve my allergies. Yes, I know that is his job, but he showed compassion and caring while listening to my frustration. Thank you to this office. I felt wonderfully taken care of. See you in a few weeks with my followup!
I took my son to Allergy and Asthma Associates to be seeing by Dr Sugar. My sons allergies were not getting any better so we decided to test him again, I took my Mother in Law who is also a Doctor with us. For my surprise, everything was done by an assistant who was clearly lost and some of the test she apologize and asked to repeat since she made a mistake the first 2 times (It was an Asthma test) . After a long time Dr Sugar came to room and told us that my Son was not positive for Peanut or Dogs and Cats and I didnt have to worry about that. He said that my Son didnt have to have any diet or any food restrictions. I insisted that what he was saying was maybe not right since my Sons ENT Dr mentioned that he had serious allergies issues. Dr Sugar was very strong confirming that we were wrong. After this appointment my son was very happy that he could eat a Peanut Butter Sandwich and hug his dogs. I regret I trusted this Dr, My son had a hard time breathing, had hives everywhere. So I took my Son to a very known Dr in OC who tested him all again and confirmed that Dr Sugar was very wrong, Peanut, Dogs and Cat came all positive and he prescribed us an Epi Pen. Dr Sugar also confirmed that my Son had a very bad Asthma and prescribed a very strong drug. The Asthma tests were repeated by the other Dr who confirmed my Son had absolutely no issues and his lungs were actually performing very well.
Dr. Sugar had barely time for us. He let his assistant do a allergy test and could not find any allergies that my child had. (Although back was clearly red and swollen). He send us to the hospital to do some sinus Xrays. The office called a couple days later saying my child had an sinus infection and we had to get antibiotics. Took two different kind of strong antibiotics but nothing changed. We changed the doctor, that found out right away that our child has allergies not a sinus infection.

He misdiagnosed my kids allergy. Had to do Xrays and CT scans just to find out its not a sinus infection. (We found out after we changed the doctor) Dr Sugar just prescribed us some pretty disgusting and strong antibiotics, that did nothing. Also talked about asthma with him and he seems like he has no clue whats going on. I dont recommend this doctor and Im really upset having to spend almost a grand for a wrong diagnosis and putting my kids life in danger with these strong antibiotics.
Just caused us more confusion and worry. Not really a paediatric Dr.
Poor office staff and doctors.......................
Always thoroughly and punctual and super nice. I was treated very kindly.

Dr sugar is a wonderful doctor. The reason for my one star is the billing department which every time I visited treated me as if I never paid my bill and after 6 months and receiving money still every time they are disrespectful knowing that in their computer it shows they have money. Alergy treatment is a long process and not knowing that it will work I told Vanessa in front to relay my message that I will stop my treatment. It's really bad for such a good doctor and yet such a bad treatment.
By Far The Best Caring Doctor Ever!. Dr Sugar has been my sins doctor for many years & now I also mine for over 5 years..he is the kindest caring doctor who always takes the time to explain everything to make you understand your health issues great doctor...As for the reviews Ive read that are negative thats a billing issue..which has nothing to do with health issues..money should be the last thing ...DR.SUGAR CARES!! Ive taken my son to many doctors coast to coast by far Dr.Sugar is the BEST!
I have never been treated so horribly by a doctor as I was by Dr. Sugar. After being a patient with Allergy and Asthma Associates for over 6 years, Im considering moving practices because of how awfully Dr. Sugar treated me and my son. I will NEVER go back to him or recommend him to anyone. After my bad experience I have heard several other people complain of similar terrible treatment by him. Its a shame because the other doctors at Allergy and Asthma Associate are very helpful.
Worse bed side manner for children I have ever seen. Impatient and uncaring. Totally unfamiliar with current allergy treatments/diseases. Walked away and never looked back. Found a great new allergy doctor for my kids.
Dr. Mark Sugar is a very experienced diagnostician, internist and allergy specialist. Caring, attentive and methodical, he listens to you as well as your body and symptoms. There are few as patient, caring and attentive. There are no easy answers or cures with allergies and asthma. Dr. Sugar will work hard for you, to alleviate your pain and discomfort and he is always available on an emergency basis.Highly recommended.
My overall experence was awesome. From the phone call I place to schedule my appointment, to checking out. I would highly recommend his office to anyone who needs a Allergy and Asthma doctor.
I am a patient of this practice and their Physicians. In no way are they misleading to their patients. It is unfair that just ANYONE can hop online and sabotage a practice and the Physicians who have worked diligently to build and accommodate their patients.
This is a one of a kind doctor. He is very thorough, knowledgable, intuitive and concerned on solving your problem. Dr. Sugar does not just want to hand you a bunch of prescriptions but wants to get down to the root of the problem. Also, if necessary, will provide you with sample medications to try and help with the cost. Dr. Sugar even got personally involved to help when my insurance company messed everything up. He really is more concerned in helping you out to make you healthier. I would reccommend this Doctor in a heartbeat.
