Both my wife and myself made visits to the Skin Cancer and Dermatology Institute in Carson City for spots on our noses. She had waited some months. I had waited some years. In retrospect, I highly recommend making a visit ASAP. Our biopsies were for Basal Cell Carcinoma. And we were both scheduled for an MOHS procedure with Doctor Schneider and her team. My wife had the tip of her nose scraped, and I had an area not far from a lower eyelid scraped. Hers covered an area a bit smaller than a dime and mine was described as an elongated quarter. The procedures were painless. While you can't describe this experience as fun, the warmth and concern of the Dr Schneider, her main assistant Heather, and others made it as pleasant as possible. My wife ended up with a small scar on the tip of her nose without further corrections. Some nurses we know complimented the work. In my own case, I moved on the next day to the Surgery Center of Reno and Dr. Ko (also excellent) to close my wound.
