List of Brent Bartholomew's Reviews
Dr.Bartholomew has been my obgyn since I was a teen, he is also my moms OBGYN of so many years. He has delivered all of my babies in which I have 3!!! He is very informative, professional & overall provides quality care for my mother and myself. Whenever I know someone does not have a personal OBGYN I’m always sharing his name with them. Thank you Dr.Bartholomew for all you’ve done for my family and me with your profession.
Dr Brent Bartholomew and his nurse practioner has always been very caring and through and they spend their time making sure you have the information you need. During my pregnancy there have been concerns with my baby and they have been on top of every little thing. No office is perfect. I do love their blood tech though she is such a sweetheart each time she takes care of me and is so kind.
I’ve had a consistently great experience with Dr. Bartholomew. I’ve started seeing him when I was having issues conceiving, which he found the issue and was able to assist in helping and I got pregnant. Him and the nurse practitioner saw me through my pregnancy and he also delivered my baby. He has a great sense of humor and personality and is very prompt in defeating any potential complications and issues. I felt like I was in great hands the whole time and I look forward to seeing him for my continued care.
Great outcome. Explained everything and listened to my concerns and requests.
Great visit overall. Explained everything and listened to my concerns.
I called Monday after being referred by the ER to Dr. Bartholomew to schedule an appointment. The girl that answered the phone was so rude and cut me off many times before I could even finish my sentence. After finally being able to talk, I shared with her my situation and told her I'm cash pay. She told me they would be able to bill me and all I would have to pay is $164. I said that's fine and scheduled the appointment. They called me back an hour later and said the doctor would like to schedule an ultrasound but that they didn't do it at their location and I would have to go to their spring valley. I said fine, schedule it. I go to the appointment for the ultra sound and they're quoting me $200 something. I told the front desk exactly the same thing I told the girl on the phone, no insurance and cash pay. She says -"they didn't tell you how much it would be?" I said -"no, idk why I need to do this ultrasound when I just did one over the weekend." Erica from the back comes out and says the same thing, goes over payments and such and says my next appointment with Dr. Laura will be $300. I told her -" that's now what I was quoted when I called to schedule the appointment." She's looking thru my files, goes to the back, comes back out and says -"okay i double checked and you don't have to do this. It's completely optional. I also checked for your next appointment and it will be just the $164. I checked the last page of your documents and it will be just that price because Dr. Bartholomew was the on call OB while you were at the hospital." I said okay, and left. I get a call today, a few hours before my next appointment, from someone at the Summerlin office, saying -"I'm just calling to let you know your visit today will be $300." I go back and forth with her and she cannot explain to me why I was quoted $164 on Monday. All she continues to say is -"I'm not sure, that's just what my office manager says." I ask for the office manager, Tina. Tina is the most Heartless and rudest person I have ever experienced From a doctors office. Half way thru explaining to her what the issue is, she cuts me off and goes on and on about her conversation with Erica. She interrupted me multiple times to correct me that they don't have a doctor at the spring valley location, just a nurse practitioner and ob - as if that is the point of why I'm calling and what the actual issue is. She then goes on to say -"well, I spoke to Erica and idk why she would tell you that when I told her we didn't have a fee for that amount, $164. I told her the amount will be $300." I finally told her I don't even want to speak to her anymore and she has no compassion for people or for anyone experiencing difficulties in their pregnancy. She then has the audacity to ask me - "Well, do you want to continue your pregnancy?" I then tell her - " You are so rude and have no f***** compassion for anyone. Of course I want to continue my pregnancy, why else would I be trying to get an appointment." How dare she ask and what kind of person working for a women's clinic asks that. She had no right to ask me, considering she's just the office manager. The nerve of Tina at the Summerlin location. She needs to be held accountable for her actions and disciplined for the way she handles patients. She should not be able to deal with patients, especially patients experiencing difficulties in their pregnancy.
Dr. Bartholomew is absolutely amazing. His bedside manner is great too. The wait sometimes can be a little long but, it goes to show he’s worth it. I definitely recommend him. The front office staff is great too. I absolutely do not recommend his NP. Her bedside manner is horrible and she’s unprofessional. She doesn’t know how to speak to patients.
Dr. B almost killed me after neglecting to follow directions for administering my insulin immediately before, during, and after my emergency c-section. Between Dr. B's office, my high-risk doctor's office, and my endocrinologist, I had nearly 60 prenatal encounters with medical providers. I worked hard during my pregnancy to maintain healthy blood sugar levels and had the lowest A1C levels since being diagnosed with T1D at 17. It was no surprise that I was insulin dependent. My high risk doctor sent orders to Dr. B for an IV insulin drip during my c-section. Dr. B made a game time decision to NOT follow these orders which resulted in me developing DKA. Also, there were two times that he called me a chicken. Once when I inquired about getting a C-section, he told me that would be, "the chicken's way out," and again after I had my baby he said that if I was a chicken and didn't want to remove the surgical tape from my incision that he could do it at my follow- appointment.
I've been seeing Dr. Bartholomew for 16 years. He saw me through two high risk pregnancies and removed my tubes. It's unfortunate so many people leave negative reviews of the doctor because of his office staff. What women want to know is if the doctor is good. Maybe it's because I'm an RN and understand how all of the system works, and not just one side of it, but the office staff isn't who is caring for you at the end of the day. I have living, healthy children thanks to this doctor, and I can't say that about other OBs in town. I personally am healthy and alive because of this doctor, and I can tell you other doctors nearly killed me and did kill my first child. As a nurse, as a patient, and as a woman I can honestly say he's one of few doctors here that I truly trust with my healthcare.Edited to add: please understand, this doctor leaves the office to care for his patients who are delivering their babies. If your wait is hours long, oh well. This particular area of medicine isn't something you can really plan a schedule with. If you were in labor, you'd want the doctor with you and not in the office, right? The reviews about the wait are so selfish. OB/GYNs are literally delivering babies and trying to keep them alive in emergent situations. If you aren't pregnant and don't want to wait for your appt, find a gynecologist that doesn't do obstetrics lol
If I could give 0 stars I would. Best part about this place is nurse practitioner Deleon. She was wonderful. Ok good part of the review is over. The front desk girl with the blonde hair. Wow. Idk but covid must have made her bitter and unpleasant or she's just like that naturally. Yikes. When I made the appointment whoever I spoke with said it was fine to bring my husband and son because I mean helloooooo people have husbands that are invested in their children too and want to see their children and help their wives through pregnancies. Anyways get there and blonde says "I'll allow it this time". Oh thankssssss will you allow it??? Am I supposed to leave my two year old at home by himself?!?! This is my husbands child too he doesn't want to just stay home while I get to hear the heartbeat and get reassured that the baby is ok. I thought maybe she was the only bitter one there HAHA nopeee. The other lady next to her was rude. The nurse that I saw before the nurse practitioner was rude. Didn't even smile or look me in the face. The ultrasound tech was the worst. Yes I get my son wasn't a joy because he was crying the whole time but I'm sorry he had a better attitude then the people that worked there lol. No one knows how to smile or be empathetic at this place at all lol. The lady that took my blood at the end was nice. Surprise surprise I will be finding a new obgyn. I have insurance but still ended up paying 175 today? And couldn't get a good answer as to why? what a joke. This place sucks and screammms repressed depression. Thanks.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
