List of Centennial Ob/Gyn's Reviews
I have been going here for a few years now and the Doctor and staff are all really great.
As someone with anxiety related to health and who is new to the area, I did my research and landed on this doctor. Due to the high amount of 5-star reviews on zocdoc (which I find baffling), and the fact that it was very easy to make an appointment, I was expecting my visit to go well. Sadly, my experience turned out to be drastically different than what I had hoped for. I had an annual exam coming up, and also wanted to check in around some minor spotting I’ve had during my past two cycles. Dr. Lopez was an hour late to my first visit, didn’t apologize for the long wait, and immediately said to me, “your spotting isn’t normal and we need to figure this out.” He said I needed to have a biopsy as well as ultrasound. While I certainly appreciate that he is thorough, the lengthy wait time to find out results is not at all comforting when you’ve been given the message, “there must be something wrong with you that we need answers to.” He refuses to upload any lab tests over an online portal or discuss via email, and I had to wait a month until I was able to get the ultrasound done and could only then come in to hear all the results. He does tell you that he will call you if it’s anything serious, which I assume to mean cancerous cells, but I had no way of knowing if there were other problems a biopsy might pick up that he would not call about. Fast forward to today, again I had to wait over 30 minutes to be seen on the heels of freaking out over the past month. Again, no apology for the wait, and apparently everything came back normal. While that’s great news, I continued to feel unsettled by this doctor’s cold and clinical manner during the appointment. He appeared to be in a rush, and seemed annoyed by my perplexity and questions about what the cause could be after he had made it sound like there had to be a problem. At various points he shrugged his shoulders and said “sometimes the body is just weird.” He also suggested surgeries like burning of my uterine lining or a hysterectomy that seem dramatic for a minor nuisance of a symptom that plenty of women deal with. Bottom line - If you have anxiety related to health and wellness, I HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere for an obgyn. Some other cons to this practice: -even though this doctor takes my insurance, I’ve had to pay an exorbitant amount for each visit, including today’s visit in which nothing was done. The receptionist said it was due to me having a high deductible, but I’ve been to a few specialists thus far who take this insurance and they’ve charged me nowhere the amount this practice did -The receptionist was pushy with me over the phone when she asked me if I wanted to schedule my Pap smear on the same day as test results and I told her I wanted to hold off (since I was pretty sure I was not going back to this doctor after getting my results). - in the waiting room there are continuous ads being played on the tv for procedures to add rejuvenation to the vagina, one of which was actually quite crude and features someone on a radio show talking about getting women “hotter, tighter, and wetter.” -you will get bombarded with text messages and emails about same day cancellations, asking if you’d like to come in for an appointment. This didn’t apply to me, since I was told I needed to wait a month to have an ultrasound.. The emails/texts have happened almost daily since I became a patient. The only stellar thing I can say about this practice is that their ultrasound tech is exceptional. She had just the right amount of kindness, gentleness, and she treated me like a human being.
Dr. Lopez-Benitez and his staff are absolutely wonderful. Having had multiple visits there over the last two months, I have not had one bad experience. Everyone that I have encountered there (sadly, I don't know names), has been extremely nice, professional, informative and accommodating. My only disappointment is that Dr. Lopez is an OB/GYN so I can't make him my PCP. He is amazing.
I don't think this office actually cares to help women unless you want a vag rejuvenation. The only piece of literature/pamphlets there are for vag makeovers lol.
I felt extremely uncomfy here from dr Lopez-Benitez not believing I had ovarian cysts and an irregular PAINFUL periods for over a decade(he kept saying it shouldn't be painful, PCOS isn't painful.) To the ultrasound technician who had me undress with her in the room for my vaginal ultrasound. When I was done with the ultrasound I noticed the door wasn't even shut and the curtain halfway opened...I could see clearly down the hall....
Super unsettling. I did return because I was still having issues and already spent so much money seeing this dr and could not afford to do this all over again with another office.
I will say dr Lopez-Benitez did NOT make me feel unsafe or uncomfy as a female seeing a male dr like I thought it would be like.
I just don't think this is the dr for women with struggles like mine.
The office staff was very friendly. Nice office decor if that matters to you. The wait to see the doctor was not prolonged. I was very satisfied with my office visit the doctor explained my Pap smear results; what to do if certain changes occur, I did not feel rushed the doctor ask if I had any questions and answered same. Very pleased.
Had terrible unprofessional service. Could not give me the service that I was told on the phone that I could. Hormone replacement therapy in the time frame I needed. Charged me a conciliation fee before I went in. When they couldn't help me refused to give me the fee back.
When I said I was going to contest the charge .... Instead of trying to make it right Dr. Lopez-Benitez had his office girl call me back to tell me he would fight it.
I'm new here from the east coast and need an OB-GYN DOCTOR, i have alot of sisters and i want a doctor that will care for my body as well as i do and respect my wishes to privacy and that the staff respect their patients as well as the patients respecting the staff and doctors there, ok my update, my insurance company sent myself to see this ob- gyn Dr,whom was so old I thought he was going to drop dead between my legs,I needed a Dr,that knows what he's doing not looking like he gave birth to baby Jesus,no disrespect to baby Jesus but, that will not do, NEVER, I felt like I was being pranked with this old looking man, this will never happen again,I was examine for 3/5 seconds and he was gone, nothing ever said to my question about my body, he just smiled and walked into another room, glad I wasn't dying, I'd be dead already.
I went to this office for biote hormone therapy. I would recommend if you are thinking about this office...Check elsewhere!! The most unprofessional office I have ever been to.
This is the most unprofessional office I have been to. Went there because I have been doing the biote hormone replacement. Never have I had such a disaster. If your looking to use this office..check

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
