List of Grace Shin's Reviews
Terrible experiences here. Dr Shin made multiple misdiagnosis as confirmed by subsequent opinions. I feel guilty for not switching doctors sooner.
Dr Schin is simply Fabulous!! Had to have a referral from my primary dr! I had been seeing double for years! I didn’t know what was really wrong, only that my vision was so messed up it was hard to even drive! I was finally given prism glasses about 2 years ago, which helped, but finally, was referred to Dr Schin! I am 66 years old.. I chalked it all up to old age, but this Doc gave me hope!! Within one Month of seeing Dr Schin, she had me in surgery and she has Changed my Life!! She was above and beyond Through!! She has given me my Life Back!! I will be forever grateful to Grace Schin and her Amazing Staff!! So many years living with messed up vision!! I Only Wish I could have found her Sooner!! Dr Schin is simply Fabulous!! Stay far away from Dr. Shin. I was a patient of Dr. Shin for a few years because of my Graves' disease. Well after Dr Liebowitz left me cross eyed Dr.Shin literally guaranteed me she would fix me up good as new. After her reconstructive eye surgery I was in immense pain, (like broken glass in my eyes) she did not believe me and accused me of wanting pain pills because her eye drops hurt as well. When I asked for some real pain meds she threw a bottle of eye drops at me. Turns out she stitched my drainage glands shut and to this day I can no longer look down without puddles in my eyes and I constantly have tears falling down my face on windy or sunny days and she destroyed my depth perception to where I fall on my face walking off curbs or over rocks or into a sandbox and I still have to close one eye while driving most of the time. Do yourself a favor and run as fast as you can away from Dr. Grace Shin.
This is the second time I have taken my daughter in for an appointment. Once you are in the office with the actual doctors and eye care representatives your experience is amazing. However the front desk employees are literally the worst customer service employees I have ever dealt with. I have worked in customer service for 15 years and never experienced the type of rude, and blatant lack of character. I would highly recommend hiring alternate staff for the front desk area that know how to service clients in a professional manner. Other than that Dr. Shin is amazing and the rest of the eye techs.
Best Dr I've Ever Been referred to!! I am 66 years old!! She has given me normal vision again!!I will be Forever grateful to Dr Grace Shin and her staff!!
Update: who wants to wait?? Nobody! But so far, I think she's worth it. We've seen a good amount of improvement in my sons eyes in just a few months!! So far so good.
I am very grateful to Dr. Shin for the care are received from her, for follow-up care after I had an operation for an eye melanoma. The melanoma operation (performed at UCLA) required a radioactive "plaque" inserted for a week. The standard aftereffect is that my muscles were stretched, causing strabismus, crossed eyes, requiring realignment. This operation she performed flawlessly. After that, the next job was to correct my eyes for cataracts, for which she and her assistant prepared meticulously. I was required to come in several times for vision acuity measurements. This was done to make sure the prescriptions for the implant lenses were dead on accurate. Thanks to her uncompromising meticulous approach, I've one eye that is 20-20 without glasses, and both eyes that point In the same direction. I see, however, some patients are frustrated with long wait times. That's caused, in part, because pre-school and school children in for strabismus are often ornery and time-consuming.
What a Rude front desk. We waited approximately 3 months for my son's first appointment. My son went with grandparents because both me and my husband are both working physicians. The front desk personnel didn't approve my baby to be seen by Dr because he went with grandparents. I called the office when I found out they got kicked out of the office without being seen by the doctor. Front desk person was BLAMING ME for not telling them in advance that my son will be going to the office with his grandparents; and to add, she told me "there are many parents who tell before and you should have said it" - um.. hello, it is YOUR responsibility to tell me first. DO NOT blame on me for not knowing your office's policy that YOUR office made. I NEVER had an issue taking my son to pediatrician or even peds endocrinologist with grandparents. Felt like they just treat patients like a garbage! Very very unprofessional - she seems to not understand how parents anxiously wait the child to be seen by the doctor - We make an appt and go there even if there is long 3 months wait because we are so concerned of our child's health, and unable to be seen by the doctor on the day of the appt due to front desk's lack of responsibility of informing the parents isn't acceptable! I didn't take a look at yelp review before going there today and now I see tons of bad reviews about this place that there is a long wait. I guess it's better to be kicked out without waiting for 2+ hrs to just see the doctor for 8mo old baby. Will NEVER go back. Such a waste of time for waiting to be seen by this Doctor when I could have found somewhere else already.
Expect a very long wait. Like 2 hours. Bring something to entertain your kids. They have fish on the walls, but nothing to keep them occupied while you wait. Review is for the wait time only since we're pretty new to Dr. Shin so I can't give her an honest review yet.
No.no..hope she is not doing any harm..at the very least. In Hind sight should have sued to protect others...please..see another.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
