UPDATE: Still waiting for our refund, they were double paid by us out of pocket and by our insurance but they held onto it to cover all possible procedure invoices, all have been paid by insurance and nothing pending yet they still have yet given us an update. No one has contacted us regarding the refund since May of this year. NO emails, no texts, no responses what so ever.
I had a failed fertility cycle in 2023 and am still owed a significant refund. I've been in contact with this clinic since last year, and it's been nothing but excuses, delays, and empty promises. Most recently, I was told their billing and accounting department is "undergoing a transition"--the same excuse others have received. There is no compassion, accountability, or urgency here, despite the very real emotional and financial burden fertility treatment carries. This is not how patients--especially in such a vulnerable journey--deserve to be treated. Unfortunately, this isn't just my experience. A growing number of patients are reporting the same refund and communication issues. If you're considering this clinic--look elsewhere. And if you're dealing with the same situation, I highly recommend filing formal complaints with the Nevada State Medical Board and the Nevada Attorney General. That's the only thing that may pressure them to act. To this day, no refund and still waiting for a response. Unacceptable!
A couple months after the initial consult, a gut instinct told me this clinic wasn't right for my husband and I. We wanted to take notes of the in-person meeting with Dr. Duke, she said it wasn't necessary because someone will text us everything that was discussed. Never received such communication. Billing would contact me the morning of to collect payment information but wouldn't clarify what the charges are for. It was almost impossible to get someone on the phone, only way to get a hold of someone was via text. The number on their website was out of service when I tried to contact it. They sent a prescription to my local Walgreens, they never got it. I am glad I listened to my instinct and got out before we forked out $$$ on our fertility journey. We switched to Nevada Fertility Center and the experience is like night and day.
This is what my wife went through at this horrible place. She endured emotional and physical stress -- all while trying to stay hopeful through an already overwhelming process. The clinic showed zero compassion, leaving her feeling abandoned and deeply hurt when she needed support the most. It's hard enough to go through fertility treatments; it's even harder when the people you're supposed to trust make it worse.
I deeply regret trusting Nevada Fertility Institute with something as important and personal as my fertility journey. After my IVF cycle was canceled, the clinic completely dropped the ball -- both medically and financially. I have been repeatedly ignored regarding a refund that is rightfully owed to me. Communication has been inconsistent and dismissive, with no sense of urgency or accountability. Fertility treatment is already expensive and emotionally draining -- no patient should have to chase a clinic for months just to get their money back after a failed cycle. Nevada Fertility Institute shows a disturbing lack of compassion, professionalism, and transparency. Patients deserve better. If you are considering this clinic, I strongly urge you to protect yourself -- and reconsider whether this is a place you want to entrust with your money, your time, and your heart.
I needed to cancel my procedure, but there was no follow up on what to do while having me on active birth control pills. I asked the same if I should stop taking it or keep taking it. There was no follow up or help on this. I did like this place, but i'm very disappointed. I feel because I had to cancel my procedure they did not care any more. I will be going elsewhere. And it's been over a week with no response
So now it is 9 months later. I had one IUI procedure done with this clinic in January and it took 9 months for the billing department to get their stuff straight. At the end of this huge hassle that I had been through with them telling me I owed them money for a visit that wasn't covered by insurance, refusing at first to resubmit the claim, charging me for nitronox that I did not get with my procedure, and charging me for labs I already paid for with my IUI, finally 9 months later, they figured it out. All those things were their error and it turned out they actually owed me money. No apology..no sorry we put you through months of hell on top of what was already a stressful process of infertility. No sorry you had to call incessantly and fight with staff to do their job correctly, enduring their rude remarks and outright refusal to do their job until you threatened legal action. No sorry about the undue stress you caused me. Go anywhere else for fertility treatment. I hope every single employee and the stupid doctor in charge of this place get all the karma that is coming to them and that they are put through the same pain and suffering I had to endure from them as well as the other patients in this thread. I noticed there have not been any new reviews since mine 9 months ago. I honestly don't know who would go to them after reading the terrible reviews they have. They do not deserve the clients or any of your money.
I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Duke. She always made me feel comfortable, she explained things I didn't understand, and she created a personal plan of action for my infertility journey. She threw everything she had at it, custom to my body, and my little frozen embryo that could is now a 2.5 year old dude. I highly recommend Dr Duke! She's truly amazing.
Definitely a different experience going to them for my second pregnancy. I was excited to be with them in my first trimesters and then go on to my high risk OB like my last pregnancy. I asked about the blood pressure medicine I'm on and the next thing I know they are cancelling my next lab work appt to make sure my HCgs are rising, and completely writing me off with no explanation other than "you need need to go to your high risk OB. " I still need to get approved to see my high risk and I'm not sure when I'll be checked out again. Extremely disappointed they wouldn't even hear me out and I'll never recommend someone here again.
When I think of NFI, I think of trauma, heartbreak, and anger. It makes me sick to think of all the money wasted here, and how I wish we would've followed our gut and left long before we did. My husband and I want nothing to do with this place ever again. We do not recommend them. In fact, we recommend you go to any other clinic in town. At this point, we have met with each of them when we finally made the decision to switch, and believe you would have a better chance and overall experience at any of them over NFI. We later had a baby after switching clinics, and the thought crosses my mind how she may not be here if we would've stayed with NFI. It took 6 months to even get started. I contacted Tina in December 2020 and we did not have our first retrieval until June 2021. We had partial insurance coverage, and she informed me that due to the holidays there may be a delay in authorization. I periodically contacted her for updates and she would inform me authorization was still pending. I finally contacted insurance in March to see what was taking so long, and was told they hadn't received anything from NFI. We thought everything was cleared up and began in April, only to stop due to continued insurance issues. We later found out Tina wasn't billing to the primary insurance at all, only the secondary. At one of the transfers, the nurse wanted me to take a blood test afterwards to see if I needed to take a medication based on a test I had done (the prior week). My MIL had to find her afterwards and the nurse had completely forgotten already and was saying I was good to go until my MIL reminded her. When it was determined I needed to take PIO shots, the nurse brought it up days after the transfer in like an "oh yeah" kind of fashion, leading us to believe I should've started it sooner. Before another transfer, the nurse was so late to tell us to take the trigger shot, she waited on speaker while we did it before giving us further instruction. The nurse forgot about a virtual appointment to go over how to use the meds until we contacted her an hour later. There were so many times once treatment had begun that they would contact me late afternoon or early evening, wanting me to get a prescription filled and begin taking it that night. Dr. Duke had mentioned a medication she wanted me on during a virtual call. When transfer time came, the nurse didn't mention it. When I requested to find out if the Dr. still wanted me to take it, the nurse responded "I mean, I can ask, but it's not in your chart." I still didn't get an answer until I repeatedly reached out to them for an update (a common occurrence). I never knew when my next appointment would be. I never knew when a transfer or retrieval was going to happen, even when I asked. I thought this was normal, until we met with other clinics and they handed me a schedule of what my upcoming appointments and transfer or retrieval date would be. 9 months after leaving the clinic, we contacted them in regards to embryo storage, and we suddenly had a giant payment that was owed of random charges, dating back to our first month there. Collections was immediately threatened and refusal to grant our requests about the storage until everything was paid in full. But, no communication was made prior to our call about any unpaid bills. The lack of communication and disorganization of this place is a huge red flag. IVF is a difficult thing to go through and NFI makes the experience worse. You are giving so much money, time, and energy and a clinic should treat their patients accordingly.
