I wish to express my eternal gratitude to Renown cardiologists and surgeons Drs. Roumanas, Ebner and Ichino. They worked as a team to select the best form of treatment for my severe aortic stenosis combined with severe calcification of several arteries. My journey began with expectations that a Transcather Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) might be sufficient to treat the valve stenosis and, after several CAT scans and an Angiogram, this cardiac team worked together to decide on a treatment that (most likely) would grant me several more years to live beyond that of replacing the aortic valve alone. I would wholeheartedly recommend these Renown cardiologists Drs. Roumanas, Ebner and Ichino for your cardiac care!

Dr Roumanas performed open heart surgery on my torn mitral valve leaf repairing it with a technique he devised and made it function in two months rather than two years. He is easy to talk with and answered all questions. I am considering asking him to perform another valve surgery since I recovered quickly and without pain.

In January 2016 Dr Roumanas replaced my Aortic valve I’ve not had any heart issues since.

Dr. Athan Roumanas repaired my mitral valve late March 2019. He and his team did a wonderful job of saving my valve (no need to replace with an animal or mechanical valve). I spent four days in the hospital. In six weeks I've been cleared to begin cardiac rehab. The incision has completely healed. Their follow-up has been great.

He was very thorough in explaining the procedure and what to expect after. I felt very safe in his care. After surgery was what he described. I went home in 4 days and was back to work in 6 weeks.
