My Daughter had a visit to the emergency room and was referred to Dr. Nguyen. The visit happened on a Friday and I was able to see him that following Tuesday. Dr. Nguyen called my personally after a scheduling snafu and two other times for follow up questions. He has been very accessible and to me that shows he is dedicated and cares about those in his care. I don't often write reviews but I noticed a negative review here and thought that it was most likely very unwarranted and undeserved.
Hello everyone My name is Yanin, my son Angel was diagnosed with encephalitis at age of 2, he became completely disabled after that. We have been seen almost every Neurology in town. Dr. Mindy Schwartz, MD was the fist one, unfortunately she passed away but she was the first one to control his seizures. Dr. Rodriguez was the second Not a very good experience he only saw him 2 or 3 times after that his assistant started seeing him and every time he saw her she'll asked what happened with my son. I felt like she didn't know what she was doing. Then Dr. Lopez Thank God he's not at Renown anymore I believe I saw him twice and I started looking for someone else right away. When I told him that Angel was having seizures again he told me that he was going to be having seizures all his life without even trying to increase or add any other Meds. Then Dr. Stacey B. Knobler, MD She did an amazing job! She was the only one that wasn't afraid to add new meds and increase the current meds he was taking. We stay with her for couple years. However I was looking to get more answers since Angel seizures were more stronger and frequently. I found that Dr Lopez was gone and a new Dr. Was in renown. Dr Colin Hoa Nguyen, MD This is my experience with him. I told him that I was looking for more answers. He also told Me from the beginning that everything Dr. Stacy did, he would it done it as well. He sended us Standford CA. To see if Angel was a good candidate for a brain surgery, unfortunately he wasn't since the damaged from the encephalitis was in all his brain. So our best option was the VNS he immediately send us a referral and he got it place it in March of 2021. It's been a year and Angel's seizures are getting better Dr. Nguyen has done everything on his power to help us with seizures. He's been always in top of Angel's needs such as medicines, school paper work or any other referral. I decided to wrote this review because he has done an extraordinary job for us since day one And I can't thank him enough. Please forget my spelling since English is my second language. I don't like writing much but I saw all the other awful reviews. He was been a great Dr. To us and so as his staff.
He talks really fast and so be prepared to slow him down. Ask your questions.
Good doctor, terrible bedside manner! Especially for children. He is not patient and we felt rushed throughout our appointment. He did not let me finish my answers to his questions, and those to my young son. He pushed answers out of my child who was clearly intimidated. It felt like an interrogation. After telling him how I felt, he slowed down a little. But still seems cold and detached, especially for a pediatric specialist.
This "pediatric neurologist" turned 6 week grandson away refusef to run test when he was havig an active seizure, claimed he was holding his breath and having Fits, i flew my daughter and grandson to utah and in a matter of minutes recognize he wad havng seizures and in a matter of hours it was confirmed dont trust him
What the other negative reviews say are true. I HIGHLY recommend going to another neurologist. At my son’s last appointment Dr Nguyen said that my son’s medication levels in blood work were low and if he had a seizure to call his office and he would increase my son’s dose. My son had a seizure. After calling and letting his medical assistant know, Dr Nguyen denied an increase. My son is at risk for seizure clusters that hospitalize him. I called another neurologist in town who fit my son into their schedule immediately The new neurologist knew exactly who Dr Nguyen was with only the story of what happened and not mentioning his name. Dr Nguyen is notorious for neglecting his patients needs. The new neurologist said that my son absolutely needed an increase.
If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst neurologist I have seen in my sons 16 years. He doesn’t care if his patients die. He refuses extremely necessary seizure meds all because of a missed appointment. He doesn’t understand that sometimes a single parent as myself cannot make an appointment but to take that out on a very sick child by refusing meds is unprofessional and he should lose his license to practice. My child ended up in the hospital with back to back seizures all because this doctor is in some sort of ego trip. When contacting his medical assistant daisy she laughed at me on the phone when i explained that my son could die from his seizures. Please do not go to this doctor as both him and his assistant do not care about the well being of their patients
if i could give 0 stars i would. he calls you to make you feel important then doesn’t care about you at all. he gave me a medication that didn’t work and refused to help me off the medication and then fired me as a patient to figure out a major pharmaceutical on my own. he does not care if you suffer and he does not care if you die. he wants money and that is it. do not go to this doctor he will make your situation worse.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
