List of John HARVEY Ganser's Reviews
Worst experience ever . No examination done , no history taken . And straight up telling an old patient that they have to live with the pain. Not recommended at all. Zero ethics . Zero bedside manners.
When I first had my VSG surgery 3/2015 it was fine, but shortly after getting home my recovery was less than great. I have had a surgery at least once a year since then. I had very bad GERD and his fix was so bad that I had to go to a different doctor in Sacramento to loosen it enough for me to swallow. I have NEVER been able to eat more than a 1/4 cup of food and even that small about causes nausea and vomiting. The doctor in Sacramento said I should have had a by-pass. She has decided my insurance doesn't pay her enough so if I don't come up with 6000.00 plus the insurance 20% then she won't be able to help me. I am calling around Reno to get in with someone else locally to fix this problem. It is very tough to find a doctor that can do the surgery in my area at a Center of Excellence. I am so miserable it is so horrible. The stomach should NEVER have a 90 degree angle in it, that is what is causing me so many problems. Keep looking if you have decided a VSG is for you, try anybody else, maybe other in his practice are better, I don't know. I was told I was getting the cream of the crop, guess I didn't. ;(
Greatly appreciate Dr. Ganser , his staff and Renown were awesome! Surgery was Excellant! Highly recomended!
Dr Ganser has removed adenocarcinomas from both my lungs and he's an excellent surgeon. Always compassionate, great listener and he follows us in person. I wouldn't want anyone else doing thoracic surgery on me. His attitude is fabulous and can make you laugh even in the operating room. Highly recommend him.
Dr. Ganser is a great doctor with great bedside manner and has a lot of patience and understanding.
Dr. Ganser is the best. Him and his team took great care of me before, during and after my surgery. I would go to him for all surgeries if I could.
Dr. Ganser did my surgery 3 years ago. It RUINED my life. I went in for one problem and came out with more. I literally can not eat with out being a stones throw away of a bathroom or else it will be a disaster. My life has been ruined and after 90 days you are not his problem. Think twice before choosing him as your surgeon
I came to the emergency room at Renown South Meadows early Saturday Am June 9 for a very painful incarcerated hernia. I was admitted at 10:00 AM and very lucky for my Dr. Ganser was the surgeon on call! I was operated on at 2:00 PM and home the next day at 10:00 AM. My personal physician told me he was the best and if any doctor was goin to cut on his belly it would be Dr. Ganser! Definitely the best of the best!
Saw Dr. Ganser for a carcinoid tumor in my lung. Initial exam he spent time with me and explained everything and answered any questions.. In the hospital his bed side manner was wonderful. Saw him again for a post op visit. He has to be one of the most kind, compassionate doctors you would ever meet. I would recommend he and his staff to anyone. He is truly "THE BEST"!
Dr. Ganser is a guardian angel. Everything you would dream of and hope for in a Dr. and surgeon. He's sincere, concise and experienced. He did my 90 year old fathers surgery and it was a great relief knowing he was his Dr. Ironically he was mine also for an appendectomy 2 years ago and was phenomenal. He's the Best!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
