List of Kenneth W Pitman's Reviews
Dr. Pitman saw very professional and outstand in solving my pain issues. Thank you Dr. Pitman ! Pain free for the first time in years !
I feel for the other review on here and can relate. I know someone who records everything. I thought they were a bit over the top, but after my experience at Pitman's, I think I should have done this. They do not remember nor take notes on what is actually discussed in appts. I asked to have him take over an RX so I can save some money, as the other doctor does not take insurance and is double my copayment. He said yes even after saying he didn't prescribe it for why I take it and I said the real reason I take it. I assumed he would say no and I would keep trying. No he said he would prescribe me this medicine. Great. He directed me to see my other doctor for my upcoming appt and then see Pitman a month after. When I came back to see Pitman, he had zero recollection and no notes. I would not make this up as I am trying to pay off debt and looking for all ways to accomplish this faster. I would rather he said no and I could find a doctor who takes my insurance and could prescribe this drug. This lack of care and detail shows he cannot be trusted to give patients the care we need. Goodbye Pitman. My pcp can prescribe my migraine meds and my copay with her is a third of a specialist. I should thank you for lying and misleading me, because I will never go to a specialist for what my PCP can treat. But I will leave one star because lying is not acceptable.
I will just say this......the negative comments below about Dr Pittman are not fabrications. I've experienced all of the complaints from others. Don't appreciate his rudeness or lack of attention to detail. Its inexcusable for a practicing physician, to schedule you for surgery, and then the day before, realize he's not licensed or equipped to perform said procedure. Epidurals and trigger point injections are their MO & are a nice $$ stream for them. Sadly they don't work terribly well, so the fall back is pushing narcs. Their billing company is a dumpster fire with way too many billing mistakes being made. In closing choose this Dr. & or practice at your own peril.
Dr. Pitman gave me my life back. It honestly makes me sad seeing some of the other reviews. Dr. Pitman has been nothing but amazing. He has never given up on me or my treatment, even when there were days where I wanted to give up. I have a progressive nerve condition that caused me to be in and out of a wheelchair. I felt like I was burning alive or freezing to death. A simple breeze from someone walking by felt like I was being sand blasted with razor blades. He may be quiet and sometime a little intimidating when you first meet him but I have learned that it is when he deeply thinking of a treatment plan. After seeing him for almost 8 years, my condition is in remission. I am now able to walk miles at a time, I am learning to hike and most of all, my three teenagers have their mom back! I don't even have words to describe how much he has changed my life! Thank you.

I happened to like Dr. Pitman. He has a crisp, extremely Professional Style and I found him like able. Is he an extremely warm Dr. maybe not. Relationships takes time, and I’m willing to take the time. I’ve just seen him once. He is working well, with my Spine Surgeon and has made requests of me which I am going to follow. The chances of my having to have Spine Surgery again are very high. I am very frightened, and found Dr. Pitman to have compassion. I am following ALL of his requests. I’m from California, and all of this is new to me. I’m being a patient, patent and I trust him. I’ve had the same PCP for 30 years, and the same Pain Management Dr. for 12 years. It’s difficult to see a Dr. that knows nothing about me. Time equals a good Dr. patient relationship. I’ve had a Laminectomy, that failed, and the 30th of this year; I had a Spinal Fusion and Rod Insertion that only participants fused. I also have PTSD, due to surviving a Brutal Assault, that happened years ago. When you first see Dr. Pitman, the chances of you walking out with opiates are slim. You need to take a test first, and possibly see a Pain Psychologist. I was in too much pain to urinate or take a blood test. I have a pathological fear of needles. If you abide in Cannabis, he will want a current Nevada Medical License. I’ve decided I’m lucky to have a board certified Medical Dr. that is an experienced Anesthesiologist that has practiced for many years. We seek Pain Drs, to get pain relief and I do believe in time, I will be on Pain Management. I like the staff, and think Dr. Pitman will turn out to be an excellent fit. I’m 62 years old, the pic is from my High School graduation.
I have seen Dr Pitman several times. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Dr Pitman ordered diagnostic tests, sent me for Physical Therapy and performed injections. Having exhausted non medication methods for alleviating pain he did prescribe some pain medication. I have seen other pain management doctors in the past and had injections. Dr Pitman is much better, both with relatively pain free injections and improvement in pain with the injections. I highly recommend Dr Pitman.
This review is coming from an individual that has had multiple compression fractures in the lower back, comes from a family with multiple healthcare professionals from a mother who is a pharmacist, 3 of her sisters are Dr's, obgyn, physiatrist and another a sychologist. I am quite aware of quality and standard of care growing up in this family and being 40 years old, suffering first 3 compression fractures at 23 and dealing with a myriad of healthcare providers over the years. I will say this, Dr. Pittman has a poor bedside manner, exudes arrogance and only has one worthless tool in his arsenal, which is spinal injections. He will start you off with those and send you home with a form to document the hourly relief. Then make another attempt and if the results are not positive he completely gives up! Rarely will he make eye contact, will continually interrupt you and make arrogant judgements about both you and your prior healthcare provider. It is clear he does not know how to handle anything beyond a stubbed toe. My experience was that after his failed attempts and extreme judgments regarding both me and my prior Dr, which I had been seeing for over a decade he then had me see Beth monthly for the next 2 years, only seeing him one other time. He will also cite CDC guidelines as if it is a mandatory law while the guidelines he is citing are intended for PCP's, not "pain spec" or chronic pain patients that have been on the same medication for years! The CDC even put out another clarification release intended for Dr's like Pittman as they continued to interpret the recommendations inaccurately as if it is this new law. So, after they essentially give up on you they will continue to bill the F out of you and your insurance to have 5 min appointments with the nurse, Beth to simply maintain your medication refills. They also will make inaccurate statements both in person and marking your medical records with apparently no accountability or most importantly any regard for your well being! It's a shame that an outfit like this can even pretend to be helping anyone beyond themselves! If you make the wrong decision and seek their help you will see that they will bill you and your insurance for absurd amounts for absolutely no relief! The worst part though is the condecending tone and statements that come out of Pittman's mouth. Beth on the other hand is a caring nice lady, however she is a nurse, not a Dr and please be mindful that her hands are tied by Pittman as this is her livelihood, so she will also make inaccurate statements to cover for Pittman. I had relocated from Cal few years back and unfortunately my Dr office in Cal had no affiliation with any medical care out of Reno, so at same time a recent MRI had discovered I had a new wedge compression fracture at L1, right at the same time I was moving to Reno. They made it clear to me that they had no affiliation with NPS or any medical group in Reno, so when they had to refer me it would have been like me simply googling Reno spine Dr. and the results are glaringly evident. The worst part now is that over 2 years later they have left me in a terrible spot as most of you will find it is extremely difficult these days to find a spine/pain management Dr and especially without the help of your former Dr! They have no problem leaving you hanging and it will be quite hurtful for you to discover their lack of compassion! If you make the horrible decision of allowing your primary care Dr refer you to this place, just wait until the day you request and review your medical records. You will discover on your own exactly why Dr's carry malpractice insurance. You will also see how dishonest they, well I can only speak to my experiences, so when I say they I am referring specifically to Dr Pittman and his nurse Beth. Also with regards to Beth I do not necessarily fault her as she is in a tough spot as she reports directly to Pittman and it is her check on the line, so she does as he says, not as she wishes.I TRULY liked Beth, however she must act as an extension of Pittman! F run!
I'm a veteran not on any pain pills. He treated me like a 3rd class citizen. I don't recommend this guy to anybody
Dr Pitman, and the clinic not only did not help my husband, but for 5 years just fed him pain pills. He ended up with a horrible addiction, lost his job, our business and he just kept feeding them to him. Thank you for ruining our lives!
