Peter L Althausen's Online Review Report Card

In spite of the fact that I probably mispronounced his name, Dr. A is a truly awesome doctor who loves his work and likes people, and very willing to answer this customer's dumb questions. He is very knowledgeable and has decades of experience as a very reputable orthopedic doctor.

Dr. Althausen is an incredible surgeon. I went in with a nasty knee injury that required emergency surgery and Dr. Athausen did an amazing job. The reality is that if you have a good surgeon your time to recovery is greatly decreased. Because I was lucky to have Pete doing my surgery, I’m already back in action only 6 weeks out. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have lucked out with Pete. Plus he’s a super nice guy!

Not sure where to start. In 2016 I came into ROC to see Dr Althausen after a Tib/Fib/Talus fracture previously seen at RENOWN Emergency, days before. He was so engaged with me and made sure I was admitted to the hospital for surgery since I didn’t have a social support system to help. My time at ROC, and Renown for surgery went very smoothly. All my follow up visits were well coordinated. I felt well taken care of by all in my care team. Thank you !

In November of 2022, I broke my collarbone training BJJ. I had never broken a bone in my body nor been in the ER or had surgery before. Needless to say the whole experience was unchartered, terrifying and mentally enduring. As soon as I got to ROC, all of that went away. They made me feel comfortable, kept it real and told me what I was to expect of the potential surgery and months beyond. As a personal trainer, staying active is part of my daily routine & ROC was determined to get be back to doing what I loved, fast and seamless! My surgeon was Dr. Peter Althausen who from the get go was incredibly welcoming, relaxing and hilarious! I was referred to him from a family friend who also had a collarbone break years ago and said he was the best of the best! Little did I know, she was really telling the truth & I was beyond grateful to have him. He made me feel more comfortable going into surgery, even as terrified as I was. He assured me that after it was done, I would be much happier and feel 10x better than I did before. That I would be back to doing what I loved in no time and the surgery would be easy and fast. He cracked jokes, but was also very assuring and I didn't feel like I had to beg to get answers out of him- he was up front & honest & truly cared about my feelings going into this surgery. Fast forward to now (April 2023) and me, my husband and my mom are watching the tragic story of what happened to our very own Jermey Renner, Hawkeye, back in January. About mid-way through, appears Dr. Althausen. We all drop our jaw and chuckle in disbelief that HE was MY surgeon. To know that I was truly taken care of the best of the best in Reno, a doc who does celebrity work--wow, I was in shock and just even more grateful knowing I had him. And boy does Renner look amazing!! My entire team at ROC - Stephen Powers & Roseleen Meade were there for me every step of they way to understand my trepidation, answer questions, plan for next steps & get me back to myself in no time. I couldn't be more grateful for the ROC team for all of their genuine support and care. I truly believe I was in the best place for this to happen to me & with the best docs who truly care about your well being. Thank you ROC and my entire team for getting me through such a scary and emotional time for myself and my family!

Dr. Althausen completed surgeon my left tibia fracture. I am so glad he chose to do this surgery. I have experienced similar surgeries twice before, but never have I recovered so quickly or with little or no pain. He was direct in his instruction, and and listened to what I had to say. Thank you Dr. Althausen. I am grateful for presence on my life.

What a great experience at the ROC and with dr Althausen! My visit went very smoothly from parking, through imaging, and finally my visit with the doctor. I was impressed that even with obviously very busy patient census, my wait time was almost none! Everyone was wonderful, very courteous, and professional! The best part was my check up with dr Althausen who is always amazing ! Thank you!

The specialist identified my problem on an easy way and give me the best solution, also he explained with details how we can fix the problem and how I will be able to handle. He is so efficient
