List of Suraj Verma's Reviews
I was a previous patient of this office and my doctor moved on. When I called to make an appointment I was told I would need to “reestablish “with a new doctor although I was told I had been transferred to Dr. Verma initially. I set up an appointment for 11 AM and checked in five minutes prior. I stood in line for seven minutes being ignored, and then when I checked in the receptionist said that I needed to be there 30 minutes before as I was a “new patient“. I politely explained to her that I was not told to check in 30 minutes before and I was there on time. She said this is Dr. Verma’s policy and there’s nothing I can do about it it’s all on him. Very disappointing to have to reschedule. My time is equally valuable but that is certainly not recognized by Dr.Verma or this office. I chose to go elsewhere.
I have been a patient of this office for 20 years and sometime ago my doctor chose to leave this practice. Why is it that just because a patient has an issue that this doctor can't identify/treat, he decides to treat that patient badly? Right back at 'him'
Horrible for my mother. Moved on years ago. All he did was bite his nails with his face in his computer as I told him about mom's audio hallucinations
I was worried when I had to find a new doctor because my doctor quit. I was referred to Dr. Verma and I am very happy. He listens to you,and wants to find the issues to the problems you are having. I recommend all my family and friends to him.
Dr. Verma is an excellent provider. He has wonderful bedside manner. His group of staff is always quick answering phones and or returning calls in a very prompt promising manner. I've never had an issue getting in same day or getting my medications filled.
I saw Dr. Verma on 5/7/20 for approximately 3 minutes to get a referral to Reno Orthopedic Clinic for a deranged left knee. He set in a chair across the room. He never touched me, no physical exam. He didn't even look at my knee! He billed a "detailed" established patient visit level 4, charging my insurance $155 which should be a 30 minute appointment and a detailed physical exam. This is overt fraud. If he did it with me, he's doing it with most or all his encounters.
I have been a Reno Family Physician's patient since 2003. I had a "complete physical/new patient" appointment to establish with Dr. Verma after my prior PCM, Dr. John Horgan at Reno Family Physicians retired. There were labs ordered and I got the immunizations I requested which were age appropriate. Dr. Verma listened to my lungs in a couple places and my heart in 1 spot while sitting, over my clothing. I have known lung disease and valvular heart disease. I asked for a refill of my rescue inhaler which did not occur. Next time I saw him it was because I had developed a tumor on my thyroid that was chocking me. He palpated my larynx, not my thyroid or any other nodes in my neck or in the supraclavicular region. He did order a thyroid ultrasound and indeed I ended up referred to a surgeon. Most recently, my autoimmune disease started to flare which hadn't happened in years. I asked for a Rheumatologist referral, but 2 months later and nothing. In the interim I deranged my knee and had to make another office visit to get a referral to ROC Urgent care and then ROC ortho surgeon. He did no physical exam. His MA refused to process the referral, noting that I didn't need a referral. I called my insurance and ROC and both confirmed I needed a PCM referral. Now I am pending knee surgery. Dr. Verma is a nice enough man, but not good at physical exam and his staff are lacking to say the least. I am moving on to a new provider and new practice after reading reviews giving 2.5 stars/5 for Reno Family Physicians which has validated my experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
