My oldest son has asthma and has been a patient of Dr. Lokshin for over 7 years. I am so grateful for all he's done to help us. Prior to finding Dr Lokshin my son was with another pediatric pulmonaligist Dr Buddecha. It was a nightmare. He was on 3 times the adult dosage of several different daily medications and nothing worked. Her only solution was to keep "upping" his dosage. I was warned by all the pharmacists that filled his scripts that the dose he was on was dangerous. He would be admitted to the icu several times a year for weeks at a time, nothing she did seemed to help. So I decided to start looking for another doc, had a few consultations with others before finding lokshin. He immediately realized that the medication my son was on for allergies was not needed. That due to his skin sensitivity he was testing positive to virtually everything. Dr lokshin ordered an under the skin test and my son had very few triggers. The allergy medication he'd been on since he was a toddler was not even needed! He's helped us manage his asthma and my son is doing WAY better since transferring to him. He always takes the time to listen and explain but also converses with my son and makes him comfortable. He may be a little to the point sometimes but that doesn't bother me... what's important to me is the care my son gets. Asthma is scary. And my son's asthma is pretty severe, especially when he gets a chest cold. Dr lokshin has helped SIGNIFICANTLY reduce his hospitalizations. Everyone is different, the only advice I can offer is if you are second guessing the care you or your loved ones are getting get a second opinion! I'm so glad I did and found Dr Lokshin.

My daughter had a consultation with Dr. Shapiro. The office staff were nice. However the doctor was very condescending and had a horrible bedside manner. It was like we were being interrogated in our consultation. I cancelled her allergy test appointment due to how horribly rude he was.

What on earth? After 10 months and the claim paid within 5 days you just tried to bill my insurance again? You were exceedingly rude and diagnosed my daughter with a phantom symptom ... meaning she was fine and although it presented as a severe allergy, it wasn’t? Siting she has an auto immune disease that may present itself once or a lifetime!

I have been a patient for @12 years. Dr. Shapiro has helped me find the right meds for my asthma/ chronic bronchitis. But the real reason I am writing this review is for a recent service. At the pleading of my children, I went On immunotherapy for my cat allergy. And, after what seemed a while if shots, I was able to finally grant their wish. The feeling I was able to experience, as I walked through my front door.... The looks of pure joy that I was able to give to my children.... worth any wait, shots, appointments it took... worth it. I have read the reviews, and can understand what people say is a cold bedside manner. But, coming from a larger city, almost every doctor I have seen is like him. I am used to his type of professionalism. He wants to concentrate on how to make you feel better, not talk about my son’s pet snake.

A friend referred me to Dr. Loshkin. I'd been to a number of different allergy doctors for a horrible chronic cough. I couldn't attend any public meeting or event because the cough WAS SO BAD. My symptoms were severe. I often would cough and sneeze at the same time. I'd almost lost hope of ever finding a solution. I'd been to every allergist near my town in California, Washington and most recently Nevada. My daughter-in-law said she had great success with Dr. Lokshin at Allergy & Asthma. I decided to try one more time and made an appointment with Dr. Loshin. OMG! He asked a LOT of questions when meeting me to review the scratch test results. I call him the Sherlock Holmes of allergy doctors. So he ordered the serum and I have now met daily maintenance. Midway through my shot series, I notice my cough had really slowed down. By the time I had moved to maintenance, my cough had totally disappeared!!! After literally YEARS of coughing and avoiding the public (even grocery stores) because it was so bad, I no longer cough....not even a ahem throat clearing. NO MORE COUGHING! I am absolutely indebted to Dr. Loskin for giving me my life back. My energy level has exponentially improved and I now can hike long distance in the mountains and enjoy challenging elevation gains....even over 1,000', and am able to go out to dinner at any restaurant I want, sit in a theatre, go to my granddaughters class performances, and just enjoy life like normal people. Dr. Loskin is a mystery solver and, frankly, his approach to my problem was more like a detective. He is not a showboat, hand holding, chit chatty doctor making wild promises. He is more the quiet problem solver type who thoughtfully takes on the challenge and solves the issue. I can't recommend him highly enough, he gave my life back to me!

Dr. Lokshin is an extremely knowledgeable and caring doctor. I can not recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Lokshin has been my allergist for over 10 years. I had asthma and hayfever which has now completely resolved with his treatment. He is always prompt and answers all my questions. His staff is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Dr Lokshin is amazing, however the office staff is one of the rudest you will encounter. We've been going to him for 3 years. Unfortunately, my daughter has to see many different doctors. We are so blessed that most of them are helpful and kind. This office however, is not. They have a very "holier-than-thou" attitude that is throughout the culture of the office staff, from checkout to records. If he weren't the only pediatric pulmonologist in Reno, he'd probably be out of business by their doing. Good luck.

Love the no-nonsense attitude of the doctors. Ask very direct questions in such a way asked who include possible allergies and exclude others. Big emphasis on what symptoms you are suffering and what medications you are using currently. The first meeting is to determine if you need the allergy screening at all. Many people do not so why waste your money on it.
