Cold and unfriendly. I would not recommend her to anyone and I do not how she has navigated her career behaving so badly with her lack of any kind of compassion. She belongs in a cubical doing medical research by herself as it is evident she cannot stand what she does.

This was the first time meeting with her for a wellness check. It was not a very good experience. She sat behind her desk for almost the entirety of the visit. It seemed she was more focused on checking the boxes off on the chart than actually listening to concerns or observing my health. She never assessed my physical form, or asked about diet, exercise or stress levels but instead, used the automatically generated BMI to tell me I was over weight. Frankly, she was too busy trying to push a Pap smear on me which I repeatedly said no to because I already have a Gynecologist to actually help me with my concerns. I would not recommend this doctor.

Having a doctor have tell you that you are doing something wrong when you have been doing all that you can to correct a problem and better yourself is very discouraging. I’m all for honesty and know that there are plenty of things that I could do better, but when you become the kind of doctor that refers to blooming your patients for a health condition instead of helping them, it might be time to give up your practice. In the case of Dr. Joan Thomas I’m sorry to say that this is the case. Both you and your nurse (who’s name is ironically Karen and whose personality certainly fits the description of what a “Karen” is described to be, you are both judge-mental, nosey and incredibly discouraging and unhelpful. It does not surprise me in the slightest that your clinic is closing.

Discouraging, judge mental, and not helpful in the slightest. It does not surprise me that the Fairbanks Clinic is closing and I do not recommend this doctor.
