Poor guy had a bad day I say!Very rude, not prepared or informative. Rushed with appointment, could not bring up CD images on screen during consult. When asked if he removed entire tumor his response was we would know better in a year. They were supposed to cut left side of head and went across top.Never did they say there is a slight chance you might need to stay a few extra days in hospital for rehabilitation.
Dr. Boulos is an amazing Doctor ! Saved my life 8 years ago and still going strong ! Suffered from a subarrachnoid brain hemorrhage.. Can't say enough about how great he is !
I just had my surgery July 1st and left the hospital July 8th. Dr. Boulos and his team are the best ever. I thank everyone involved and all the nurses who took care of me. I'm sill in recovery, and I'm proud to have them as my team. Thank you
Excellent doctor who saved my life. Highly recommended his services for acoustic neuroma.
4 years ago I was diagnosed with a cavernous angioma in my frontal lobe. Over the years, it doubled in size and the neurosurgeon I was seeing recommended surgery. I had not felt comfortable with the neurosurgeon from the beginning so I made a call and was easily able to schedule an appt with Dr. Boulos. I met with him and he answered all my questions and said he felt surgery was needed as well due to the fact it was growing. He specialized in my condition and I knew after meeting with him he was the right person to do the surgery. I scheduled the surgery a few months out. As of today the surgery was done 15 days ago. I am home and feeling pretty good. He did an excellent job took every precaution necessary to make sure the outcome would be as positive as possible and came to check on me in the hospital for the first few days following the surgery. I couldn't be happier that this mass is removed from my brain and I have no deficits or impairments. He is a very caring and excellent surgeon. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. His staff ( Ali and Ranna) are awesome too!! I can't thank him enough for what he did for me.
I was admitted through the ER with a ruptured brain aneurysm and I'm not aware of when I met him the first time, but my family, waiting the five and a half hours while the coiling was done (by him) found him very compassionate and said he gave a good explanation of what the procedure entailed, including the risks. I have seen him for followup several times. I am completely satisfied. Always friendly and attentive. The person who thinks he didn't believe her may not have realized that when he said he didn't understand her symptoms, that that is exactly what he meant. He didn't understand. Her symptoms and test results were disparate. This happens!!! He was being honest with her, not accusing her of lying. He is a top-notch surgeon and knows his stuff and deserves respect. His time is precious and that should also be respected. But he isn't a miracle worker. If he could have done more, he would have. I love him and owe my life to him.
I was very excited to meet with Dr. Boulos. I've been searching for a neurosurgeon after being told from my last one that it was time to do surgery, and needless to say I wanted an experienced surgeon and the best of the best. I did a lot of research and seeing his credentials, reviews, and his video on the AMC website I just knew he was "the one". My apt was at 8:30 AM which I was told was the first apt of the day. I get called in immediately after checking in, and very kind woman (resident doctor in training) came in and explained she was going to do a neurological exam then fill in Dr. Boulos and he'd be right in. When I was done with the exam, I waited an hour and 10 min for doctor Boulos to come in even though I heard him chatting outside most of that time with other employees as though it was coffee hour or something. When he finally comes in my room and talks to me, he sits down and basically told me my symptoms don't make sense (I have a Chiari 1 Malformation and Syringomyelia, where my cerebellum herniates out of the skull causing the skull to put pressure on the cerebellum which then restricts cerebral spinal fluid flow and causes syrinxes to form in my spinal cord) because my herniation was only 5mm (a Chiari 1 Mal. Is described as cerebellum herniation of 5mm+ and is known that it doesn't matter the size of herniation, a person with 15mm could go throughout life with no symptoms and a person with 3mm could have many symptoms). Which I don't understand since all my symptoms are the usual symptoms of my conditions! This was the first time ANY doctor I've ever met has ever insinuated I was lying or making it up! And throughout life I've seen my share of many diff doctors. As though my herniation was minimal so I shouldn't have the symptoms I do. Meanwhile I'm 22 years old and in a wheelchair because if I walk more than 20ft I get so dizzy I'll pass out if I don't sit or lay down, along with a huge list of other debilitating symptoms. I waited so long just for him to talk down to me and only talk to me for 5 minutes! So I ask him what else does he suggest I do? Seeing how with my conditions there are hardly any treatment options an the 1 of 2 is surgery. He told me to continue pain meds and acupuncture, even though I've been doing that for a year now and am only getting worse. I am very disappointed and I feel as though his video on AMC website is very misleading! He says on the video "he treats all his patients as though they're his family". I'm sure if he had a daughter my age in a wheelchair unable to do so much as bathe herself he would get her taken care of before she got worse! He really made me feel as though I don't matter and I'm not "severe enough" for him to even be bothered with. And I feel like that was a huge waste of valuable time and money, when it's a fact that when symptoms start progressing it needs to be taken care of asap before any permanent nerve damage occurs. I was really expecting to love him, find my match and finally get the help I do badly need. But literally everyone else in the office and hospital are so kind and caring! I was very suprised at how I was treated! It seemed as though he thought speaking to me was a waste of his breath. Very sad and beyond disappointed!!
I had a ruptured brain aneurysm which caused a subarachnoid hemmorhage. Dr. Boulos performed a coil procedure in an emergency situation. 9 months later he repaired a 2nd aneurysm before it had a chance to rupture. Dr. Boulos saved my life, he is a compassionate, caring physician who took time to explain each procedure in detail and treated me like i was family. You will not be disappointed if you choose Dr. Boulos, I owe my life to him.
I was disagnosed with SAH thru the emergency room during the course of an emergency rrom visit. I saw the Doctor 1 time, although I was in and out of it quite a bit. The doctor saved my life. Albany Medical Center is an awesome hospital. Dr. Boulos staff is very pleasant.. I am so glad I had him. He saved my life !!
Dr. Boulos listens attentively and is caring. I felt confidant in his abilities.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
