He cross-threaded a screw in a plate while repairing a bone fracture in my leg, so it had to be removed by another surgeon by sawing off the screw. He ran out of an exam room before I had finished with my questions, saying he “had already spent more time with me than he usually does with his patients.” The last time I was examined by him, I was not given the dignity of an exam room. Instead, I was placed in a shallow linen alcove in a busy hallway. I was placed on a folding chair with my fractured leg out in the narrow hallway, near a corner where people were flying by. He examined my broken leg by standing behind me and looking over my shoulder. That was the day I knew for certain he could never be trusted.

Dr Phelan was very thorough in explaining the issues at hand and addressing them in a timely manner. Everyone that I dealt with at the bone and joint center were always professional , helpful , knowledgeable and caring. If I ever have another issue requiring orthopedics I will definitely be going back.

Great place, I have dealt with 2 different Doctors at this place for 2 different injuries, and both doctor's and all the staff I had the pleasure of dealing with have been the best by far!!!!!

I like that it's a conversation between the two of us and it's not one sided. Dr. Phelan listens to me and then comes up with a plan that will benefit my health.

Dr. Phelan is a wonderful doctor. He operated on my right shoulder 4 years ago and did an amazing job. I just saw him again for a different shoulder issue and he was very helpful as always. Dr Phelan’s bedside manner is amazing too, he is very genuine. I have never had a negative experience at Bone and Joint and if you need a shoulder doctor, then look no further!

I originally saw Dr. Phelan for a torn meniscus, from the consulting phase, then surgery, then post op, Dr. Phelan was excellent in every manner, he's a true asset to that practice and his bedside manner is above any in the medical field, I am very grateful for all he has done.
