List of Jorge Cerda's Reviews
Had painful situation that required immediate attention. Tried to talk to nurses and doctors, very poor at returning phone calls, understaffed. Could not see me in office for urgent situation. Left me with the feeling no one cared!!!
Dr. Cerda is outstanding. I count him as one of the best of the many doctors I have seen in my 70 years of life. He is very busy but has continued to see me in his office - even during COVID (with precautions, obviously). He answers all my questions, I am never rushed. I am on a drug (Gleevec) to treat a form of cancer and the drug reduces kidney function. I also require CT scans every 6 months and the contrast also affects kidney function. My oncologist recommended that I see a nephrologist and I was fortunate to be able to see Dr. Cerda. He carefully reviewed the other drugs I am taking and found that Gleevec doubles the half life of the statin drug I'm taking so I was able to cut the dosage of the statin drug in half while still achieving the same reduction in cholesterol. This resulted in an improvement in my kidney function. He conducted a very thorough initial exam and review of my health history and provided a very detailed letter to my oncologist with his recommendations.
Horrible!!!! Dr. Certa does not meet with his patients. All he cares about is money. He does not speak to or know his patients at the local dialysis centers and just signs off monthly for reimbursement. He will not meet you in his office.
I have been seeing Dr. Cerda for nearly three years and he is exceptionally helpful, kind and caring. He is very invested in the welfare of his patients and strives to do his absolute best for them.
Dr Cerda has been taking care of me for nearly 11 months , he is just a great Listener and knows what he's telling you , very gentle and smart . he cares about his Patients , i highly recommend him to anyone with kidney problems , i was in tough shape when i met him in St. Peter's Hospital , i have done very well under his care
When I first got sick, my doctor was Dr. Guy McCoy but when he retired, I was given Dr. Cerda. When my creatinine numbers were getting higher and higher, he was very disinterested and kept telling me I was fine. Then I was handed off to an Physicians Assistant. I left the practice and saw Dr. Chaffin in Syracuse. When he saw my records and lab results, he told me we needed to talk about dialysis or a transplant. Thankfully he was able to help me with meds. Dr. Cerda would have ruined my health.
Dr. Cerda took excellent care of me when I was sick with kidney disease (classic nephrotic syndrome a.k.a. minimal change disease. He is very professional, personable and an awesome doctor who really knows his specialty! he was referred to me by Emergency Medicine physicians (I previously worked for during my illness) at Albany Med who held him in very high regard, and I'm sure they still do. I have been in full remission since 1999. Thank you Dr. Cerda!
Excellent and thorough diagnosis and follow up, Easy communication. Answers questions thoroughly and makes sure he's understood, by encouraging questions and responding to them. Quick turn around for phoned in questions. And as a bonus: a gentleman and a scholar,

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
