I have Macular degeneration in both eyes. After a few years of Lucentis injections, the left central vision went and the right was on it's way. I needed help and could no longer drive. I kept asking Dr Sax to try Eylea for several months.I became desperate and depressed. I believed and trusted him. Finally I got upset with him and he put me with another doctor who gave me Eylea. Two weeks later, I was driving. I changed to a different group and my vision is great. Advocate for yourself. (????)

Dr. Sax may be medically competent, but you would never know it. He keeps you waiting an inordinate amount of time, then hustles in with his tablet computer, never greeting you or looking at your eyes (though he may have looked at test results before entering), and taps away seeking a diagnosis. Then abruptly leaves. When I had a vision crisis in 2013, his semiannual checkups lost track of me and were not responsive until another ophthamologist called for me. I left his care in 2016.

Dr. Sax has been nothing but courteous and kind during the years I have been a patient. My multiple eye issues are addressed as needed, and I am confident I have the best ophthalmologist in the area. His office people are not always so great, sometimes rude, sometimes difficult on the phone, but I won't switch because I trust Dr. Sax. Long wait times can be an issue too.
