List of Robert Hughes's Reviews
Had an appt with Dr. Hughes and he sat at the desk, asked questions and took notes. Never looked in my ears or in my nose. After 7 minutes of note taking, the final diagnosis was he didn't know what would be causing vertigo and suggested therapy and a VNG test. He was not friendly and somewhat rude and was generally disinterested in me as a patient. Have yet to hear back from anyone at the practice in scheduling therapy or the test, has been almost a full month. I will never see this physician again and recommend you choose someone else at the practice.
I was under the impression that physicians in the US had to pass some sort of test to verify a decent “bedside manner”, but Dr. Hughes must have had a proxy back in the day, or he has lost his compassion and ability relate and communicate in a caring fashion.
Dr Hugh's is very unfriendly. Whenever I asked a question, it was met with sarcasm and impatience. Will never go back to him.
He’s not my doctor, but for whatever reason took it upon himself to relay his opinion(Not findings) to my GP contradicting facts and test results documented in my records. Arrogant jerk. Find another doctor.
Sullen, unfriendly, poor communication skills, and he was completely unprepared for our meeting. Then he cauterized several spots in my nasal passage with no warning. I guess it's better for him that way When I tried to tell him something he spoke over me. He used condescending language. I sought out a different doctor because I could not trust the information he relayed.
I was seen by Dr Hughes for the first and last time on Tuesday May 11 for allergies I have for the first time since I was 17 years old, I am now 75 years 8 months old. Two times during my exam after Dr Hughes asked me a question he interrupted by answer by saying I’m not interested in that information. Believe me I wasn’t digressing in my answers! Upon returning home I immediately called my local Hannaford Pharmacy to cancel his subscription order for antibiotics! The pharmacist said that the prescription wasn’t called in yet and asked me why I was canceling? I explained to him Dr Hughes arrogance interrupting my answers. The pharmacist replied his friend had the same experience a few weeks prior!!!
Dr Robert Hughes is very friendly Doctor around. Also extremely knowledge about his job.
Not following their own safety guidelines during pandemic. I have seen Dr. Hughes on 3 different visits in Gansevoort office, during 2020 pandemic, he was rude and arrogant. Also, the office Check-in receptionist takes some of the patient’s temperatures during this pandemic, at check-in, but not the many allergy shot patients, who all check in on the same computer in patient waiting room. Office does not enforce their own rule of no more than 2 patients in waiting room at a time, there is no sanitizer next to computer that multiple allergy patients use to sign in with. Dr. Hughes washed scope he used to put up my nose, with only water, at sink, in office during my visit, then just set it down on unsanitary counter and left it there on the counter after only rinsing it with water. Hope I don’t develop an infection from scope. The office should be doing temperature checks on the numerous allergy shot recipients in and out of office, constantly throughout the day. I do not recommend.
He should not be allowed to treat children. He forced my kid's mouth open without taking a moment to establish rapport. My child screamed a fear type scream and the doctor did not stop, nor did he seem to acknowledge when I said he just needs a moment to comprehend what you're asking, and a moment to get used to you. He asked me the same question several times and did not seem to understand my answer. My only explanation to his behavior is that he must be on the spectrum. I don't think my son was well cared for, quite the opposite.
Dr Hughes practices medicine. He isn’t looking at his computer. He actually takes a detailed history and asks pertinent questions until he understands the problem. If you’re looking for a new friend, keep looking. If you’re looking for a great clinician, then he’s your guy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
