St. Peters Hospital Emergency Room's Online Review Report Card

St. Peter's ER, like most 'For Profit' emergency rooms, is woefully understaffed by the most jaded and mean spirited people in existence. For 2 weeks my wife's hospice had worked to have her admitted only to have the ER personnel flush that work within 3 hours. No charge nurse on duty, no one with the ability to make a decision and openly mocking patients in front of other patients. All my wife needed was a COVID test so she could go upstairs to hospice and you would think they had been asked to end world hunger. After 3 hours of exposure in an ER for my immune compromised wife we simply left after being tucked in a corner. For additional fun they are now trying to bill us for sitting in their corner which evidently runs about $350. We all will meet our maker and when these people do I hope they recieve the same service they have dished out to others.

I went the St. Peter's emergency room several times in 2021. It's a joke. Lots orderlies technicians, ambulance drivers, etc. milling about socializing with one another, eating lunch, surfing on their phones, busying themselves on their "work" stations.Lots of nurses having a great time, trying to look like the nurses on your favorite hospital TV show, mostly trying to avoid contact with patients.Most of them are good looking and they love flirting with one another and chatting.If you happen to be a patient, once in a while someone will come over and begrudgingly take your vitals (without making eye contact).The only consolation is that you will feel great when you get out of St. Peter's E R, just to be out of there.

On Monday, November 22, 2021, my mom arrived there with covid after a blackout and potentially serious fall. She was isolated for hours, was not given a call button, and was not cared for properly. I called multiple times for them to get someone in there and still nothing! The security staff treated my dad like a criminal for coming to check in on his wife and the operator/nurses who I was directed to flat out lied about tending to her! Avoid this emergency room at all costs...if your loved ones need care get them to another hospital!

The wait to be called into the ED was short for my 3 visits, about 10 minutes. Once you're in the main room, the wait begins. My first visit, I was there 2 hours. The following day, my condition worsened. The ED addressed my issue but also ordered unnecessary xrays that had nothing to do with my condition.The real issue with the ED is the surprised billing from providers (PAC, LNP, etc.) who are out of network. It is hard to find who they work for because of the many entities that remain hidden. New York state has a Surprise Billing law but to use it, you need to do some legwork.If you ever need to go the the ED at St. Peters, insist on In-Network providers treating you.

Been here since 6 with my sister and brother. My brother went in before my sister and we all checked in same time. But we still waiting same issues. This is the worst hospital. patient went in before her that wasn't here before us.

I went to the ER Sat 11/13 and had one of the best experiences in many years. Staff was attentive, doctor was thorough, tests came back fast. What else could you ask for. In and out in 2 1/2 hours.

The nurses are not just rude when you ask for HELP, they get downright mean. Then ignored me. I should have just wet the bed, but I know I’d just sit in it and be pushed around. I left against medical advice, signed a paper that said I’d rather die than stay there. They let me leave alone at 2am in a taxi. No follow up call. I could be dead and they don’t care because I had the nerve to ask for help. I had to yell help several times because the call button produced zero response. Meanwhile the nurses are outside my door laughing and chatting like it’s a picnic. Not Christian at all.

Worse place to visit for emergency after waiting for 7 hours they still don’t have no beds. Go somewhere else

I had a good experience here, the wait for ED is less than desired for an emergency department. But once in the care from the nurses/PA is top notch.

I went to St. Peters Emergency Room last night with my one month old son with a referral from an urgent care. He had a fever of 100.4 with Tylenol in his system, trouble breathing, vomiting, very dry mouth, not able to stay awake and refusing to eat. We sat there for 5 hours without being seen at all (they never even took his vitals.. we just saw registration and got put in a room) and when we asked the nurses for help because he was continuing to decline while we sat there they were incredibly rude to us and then ignored us completely. We ended up going to another hospital where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and low oxygen levels and very high heart rate and needed to be transferred by ambulance to Albany Medical Center Pediatrics for inpatient care. Do not ever go here if you have anything serious wrong they are not helpful at all.
