It is very important that doctors show a great deal of understanding and empathy towards their patients when they are going through something as tragic as Cancer. Dr. Bernard needs to learn that it is not good practice for doctors to impose their personal views and feelings onto the patient when they have chosen their method of care for the disease. You should not make the patient feel bad and knock their method of treatment and healing. We had a wonderful relationship until I was diagnosed with Cancer, and then she told me what treatment 'I Am Supposed To Do' and dismissed what I wanted to do. Shortly thereafter I started feeling stressed going to see her. And going forward, just about all of our appointments ended with me leaving unhappy due to her hurtful remarks, opinions, attacks and lack of trying to understand the treatment methods in which I chose. So for my own health and sanity I finally had to cut ties and find a new PCP. I wish her well!
