Did a fine job on my surgery, his bedside manner wasn’t that bad he is just business like and doesn’t have time/patience for frivolities which I respect.
Dr. Reynolds was fantastic. He explained everything thoroughly. My son requires eye surgery. Dr. Reynolds wants to monitor his condidtion for the next 6 months before jumping into surgery who i respect.
Not what you want to see when your child vision and life is in someone's hands.
I do not recommend taking your child to see Dr. Reynolds. I took my young daughter to see him 3 times before switching to another pediatric ophthalmologist. During all 3 visits, Dr. Reynolds was rude to my daughter and myself. He was impatient, scolded my daughter when she tried to have polite conversation with him, and repeatedly spoke to me in a condescending manner when I asked reasonable questions about her eyes. On top of all that, during 1 visit we waited almost 2 hours to see him.
I'm horrified that my daughter was subjected to such demeaning treatment! My sweet 15-year-old had a treatment unresponsive swollen/droopy eye for two weeks. Dr. Reynolds was extremely rude and shamed her for coming to him for such a "minimal" issue. He pontificated about "serious cases" where "patients' eyes are red and swollen shut" and that her issue was all the way on "the other end of the continuum," then scolded her for using her eye drops too much even though it was taken as prescribed.
If I could give "0" stars, I would. This was the worst experience that I've ever had with a physician and was horrified that my daughter was subjected to such demeaning treatment. My sweet 15-year-old, who never complains about anything, had experienced an obviously swollen/droopy eye for nearly two weeks that was not responding to her pediatrician's repeated attempts to treat. The ophthalmologists that the pediatrician's practice recommended did not have appointments available for over a month so I looked elsewhere and found Dr. Reynolds' place of employment, which had an appointment available almost immediately (now I know why). Dr. Reynolds was extremely rude and basically shamed her for coming to him for such a "minimal" issue. She sat quietly while he countered everything she had said to him and arrogantly tried to convince her that her condition had gotten better over the past few weeks. He pontificated about how he was used to seeing "serious cases" where "patients eyes were red and swollen shut" and that her issue was all the way "on the other end of the continuum." He also scolded her for taking too much of her medication even though she was taking as it as prescribed by her pediatrician. My advice- wait to get an appointment with another ophthalmologist.
If you are able to get an appointment with another Pediatric Ophthalmologist in the area, I'd recommend you doing so. The staff was fine...but Dr. Reynolds lack of bedside manner was ridiculous. The whole appointment, which lasted 3 hours, was uncomfortable and concerns of ours were downplayed and/or dismissed. Dr. Reynolds barely made eye contact with me and instead, focused on talking to my husband, even when I made a comment or expressed a concern. Very disappointing.
This was the worst drs. Office i have ever been to. I spent more time waiting then i did seeing an actual dr. I was at the office for over 2 and a half hours for eye exam. They were apparently over booked and it was a diaster
Worst experience at a doctors office-EVER. This pediatric office is the most un-kid like place I've ever been to. And considering we were there for over 3 hours, I had plenty of time to read the same couple of children's books they had with my daughter. Unfriendly staff, with the exception of the receptionist, made the experience even less enjoyable. It seemed like nobody there even liked children. The doctor we saw, Dr. Pihlblad, seemed uninterested in explaining anything to me & after I expressed my dissatisfaction with our overall experience he sat there and said nothing. There are other pediatric eye doctor offices/doctors out there that will take time to make you feel like you & your child are important, work with you to explain the diagnosis & direction they intend to take with their treatment. If you like to be treated poorly & like you're just another patient, I'm sure he's a fine doctor & knows what he's talking about. He did not make a good impression on me & my daughter (who is 5 and asked me not to go back there). She loves her new eye doctor & so do I! After speaking with some other mothers, I have learned that my experience is not that unique and that's what prompted me to write this. Hope it helps someone avoid a similar experience, or at least prepare them.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
