The Smilist Dental Amityville's Online Review Report Card

I love the smilist in Amityville the staff are really nice but mostly Dr. Connor she is amazing she made my son feel comfortable and her bedside manner is great i would really recommend this office to all my friends and family.

After having two molars removed without a problem, I was told to wait while the office sought to get approval for another procedure. I was informed that they had to take an appeal but then never heard back. So, I eventually called month later and made an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I was asked to come in early to have x-rays taken. I came in early, signed in, and then waited for almost a full hour without anyone acknowledging me (I was the only one seat in the waiting room).After feeling ignored, I decided to leave but before doing so I asked to make another appointment. I was "we have an opening on the 7th". I said, "Fine, Monday, the 7th at 2 p.m." I put in my cell phone calendar while at the desk and left.Wednesday, March 2, I get a text message from the front desk asking me if intend on coming in the appointment. I call and explain that the appointment was for Monday, the 7th. She says, "No, it's for today." And that was it. So, I said, "Okay, thanks" and hung up. I was treated like they didn't want me as a patient. Request granted. Bye.I won't be going back and will now look for a new dentist.

My first visit to the Smilist Dental Amityville was very impressive. All the staff professional, and friendly. The hygienist Carlos showed he knows his craft, and did a great job cleaning my teeth. I'm glad to come aboard.

Jeannie, my dental hygienist, was gentle and thorough. She spent time explaining to me how to use an electric toothbrush correctly. Would highly recommend.Desiree at the front desk was especially helpful in helping me obtain some documentation that I needed for an upcoming surgery. She was upbeat, warm, and was excellent with follow through.OK Dr. O’Connor was through and gentle and took time to answer my questions.A very pleasant experience, thank you

a hygienist gene targeted the only tooth that ever was filled years ago to try to create a tooth infection and pain for months to come. With the metal tartar tool she practically broke my tooth filing twice within seconds then moved on as if she did nothing and left the room. mind you she did this right after taking xrays and claimed a cavity can form within 6 months she says now. after months of pain this place is a scam.

Horrible experience here. Went in to get 3 fillings & when i was done with all 3 i felt like i had a tooth that was poking out higher than the others, came back that same day to find out there was also another patient who had the same exact problem. I go in to get the adjustment to my filling and i still feel the same thing the doctor told me it was cause i was numb but i knew it was normal, he gave me an attitude and said that i just gotta wait till my mouth isn’t numb. So i came back the next day he grinds it down a little more but i’m still feeling the same pain. He couldn’t figure out what was going on so he threw his hands in the air and gave me more attitude saying he doesn’t know what to do, there was another dental assistant in there with him btw. I told him my mouth wasn’t like this before i got my fillings here, and he finally ended up getting it to where it was a little more comfortable but my bite is not the same as it was before. i will never return to this facility the only thing that was nice were the Ladies at the reception desk.

Treated so warmly by staff and the dental treatment was certainly effective and the dentist was so kind and informative! As dentists go, I love this place and do recommend it to anyone.

Jeannie the hygienist took care of me and the doctor was very pleasant very concerned thorough respectful. I had a wonderful experience there for my first time!!

They stop taking my insurance in the middle of me getting my teeth cleaned and my chip tooth repaired. I already had appointments set up for these procedures but had an ignorant receptionist to say I can no longer come in for anymore work. Then mailed me a letter saying they will honor my appointments because I had them prior to their company's change in insurance acceptance.Soooo, I called only to get the same knuckle head receptionist. I explained the letter received and procedures. She left me on hold, came back said " the nurse doesn't know what your talking about". I asked to speak to the nurse, she said she's busy and can't come to the phone but I can email the receptionist with the letter from the smilist and they will call me back. Still no call, same rude receptionist, no dental work.Having good staff is just as important as having a good physician with a good bedside manner.They stuck.!
