The staff are polite and business-like. The only failing is the lack of an air-purification system in the waiting room, which can get packed. This is problematic, since Covid is again a concern.

I had RK surgery in 1997 and now years later, my cornea is misshaped and i can't see. I have to wear special lenses with great difficulty. Dr. Mackool ruined my eyes!

I’ve been to many ophthalmologists, drs rj and Richard are the most knowledgeable in their field! Rj spends time with me and answers all my questions. The office is immaculate and the staff is polite and treat me with care

I am an Ophthalmologist -- an eye surgeon. I requested Richard J. Mackool to do my cataract operation. In this world we hopefully have choices. I selected the most talented surgeon! In addition, he is a compassionate and kind human being to go along with his gift of restoring sight. My pre operative evaluation with his team was very thorough. He then listened to my concerns (especially since I too do cataract surgery) and gave me confidence that I had chosen wisely.

Have been there for both my eyes, my moms eyes and my husbands eye. The whole staff could not have been nicer. And efficient…..it was so reassuring being under their care

A former employee they terminated for an unjust reason without explaining what I did wrong. If they had explained what I did wrong and explained to me i would have put in my two weeks notice. Then again having a new company take over calling me I am unfit to be a part of them, also influx of patients coming in and sometimes having to wait hours just to have 10min procedure done is quite unreasonable the greed of wanting more money in their pockets. They do say karma is a B word

Trying to understand why at 2:50 pm my husband is still waiting for cataract surgery when we arrived promptly at 10am....it is not medically friendly for someone nervous about the Surgery to wait when you see people who arrived after you leaving to go home and you are still waiting not to mention not eating from the night before.... I don't suppose anyone from The Institute will even address this ...

I handed the Dr recent test Dr said he would have to take his own readings which took 3 hrs and was very uncomfortable for my wheel chaired handicapped almost 80 year old husband. Then inform my husband he couldn’t do the surgery because he doesn’t have a Hoya Lyft. Now he wants to charge me ,60 a page to return my husband’s chart.

I has both eyes done (cataract removal) this month, July 2021. I couldn't be more delighted! Dr. R. J. Mackool was wonderful. Calm, understanding, and at times amusing. The intake form is detailed and helps the doctors better understand you and your vision needs. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. They do their very best to put you at ease and get you through the surgery and recovery. The Institute itself is spotless and not crowded which is not to say they aren't very busy. They are! I never felt "forgotten" or ignored. The car service picks you up at your home and takes you back. No charge to you, unless it's part of the overall bill. You just tip the excellent and on time drivers. They deserve that. Don't hesitate to contact Mackool's.
