Worst doctor I’ve ever seen. Terrible bedside manner and has no idea what he’s talking about
Do not go to him; he will hurt you more than if you don’t go to an orthopedist at all. Will see you for 5 minutes and try to rush himself out of the room, not letting you speak. He can only handle up to 2 body parts at a time; you have to make another appointment for another body part (as is with most doctors these days). His medical note had listed my same body part twice with different diagnoses/findings, indicating poor care.
Very professional and empathetic. Took his time diagnosing her broken hand and guiding us. Follow up visits with X-rays very comforting and helpful.
If I could give zero stars I would.Went to DR. Barkin for a 2nd opinion for my 16 year old who is having back problems. The first thing he said to us is 'why are you here"? He said you already are seeing an orthopedic ,so He then said, I can't do much more for you.Really? The worst DR EVER!!! AVOID. Do not waste your time. I do not know how he is still in business.
Absolutely Awful. I very rarely leave reviews and have never left one for a physician but Dr. Barkin was without a doubt the worst experience that i have ever had in the medical field. I had injured my left knee but there was no structural damage shown in the MRI. He saw me the first time for about 2 minutes and recommended physical therapy and anti-inflammatory pills without even looking at my knee. The physical therapy exercises only made my knee worse for a month and I was in worse pain than before. The 2nd visit was far worse than the first. He barged in the office and started speaking and barely paying attention to my responses. He left mid-evaluation and mid-conversation to talk to someone else. I forced him to look at my knee while he was constantly talking over me and arguing with me. I have never had a medical professional actually get confrontational with me but there's a first time for everything. A horrible experience from a horrible doctor.
First time visit, not the patient but the parent.Dr barkin was very nice, and professional explained everything with detail even preformed an X-ray of the lower back on site which was surprising(thought I had to go off campus). Staff was very nice. Will go back again.
0/5 stars if it was possible. Stay far away. I had overexerted my body through overtraining, and he would not look at more than 2 body parts per visit. He cuts you off if you try to explain your medical concerns longer than he can handle (seconds), and he does not give you time to ask any questions (you have to cut him off to say what you have to say). He does not explain what your medical diagnosis(es) is/are, and you can only get a record of his impression etc. if you ask for it at the desk; when I looked at mine, he listed the same body part twice (with different issues: that's not good if someone was going into surgery)! He tries to make the visit as short as possible as though the patient is a number on an assembly line. He denied me an MRI(s) without giving a reason, and I am still limited in my mobility even with multiple months at physical therapy. Please, find a doctor that cares for the patient as a person.
Barkin is a disaster. He unnecessarily cast my elbow, which led to extrene motion problems and tons of therapy for over a year. A simple thing that would have healed on its own, and that is the protocol that other doctors use. Unfortunately, I learned this too late! Avoid him like the plague. (Also, he's so inconsiderate about makkng you wait without communicating, and his schedule is nasty.)
I have been suffering from severe work related upper extremity injuries for years. Currently I am working a shortened work day due to these injuries. I was recommended this doctor from my primary care physician. He only looked at me for a few minutes and had the audacity to undermine my injuries, putting all of my injuries down saying that I’m ready to work instead of listening to any of my concerns. On top of his misdiagnoses, when trying to change some paperwork that he messed up he refused to see me and lied about closing the office early so I wouldn’t have to see him. His attitude needs to be checked and he has to learn to be more caring, listening, person, and overall a more decent human being.
I went to see Dr Barkin two months ago and then today. I was having severe knee pain in both knees. He refused to look at both, only one! From there i got a misdiagnosis and the physical therapist he recommended said he was completely off! I also went in to my boyfriends ortho who agreed it was a wrong diagnosis. I went back to try to give him another chance - both appointments lasted LESS THAN 3 minutes. How do you observe someone that quick? When i asked him what he claims i had he got annoyed & as i asked questions he walked out, only for me to follow yelling “hello?!” I asked him about ortho shoes etc he said nah your young and fine. I am an athelete and was just hit by a car are you kidding me lol! If you care at all about your body and working out ever again do not go to him or anyone he recommends. I never give bad reviews but this was insanity !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
