Not up to date with new treatment paths. Rude and dismissive. Pill pusher and surgery happy kind of doc.

I suffer from severe chronic stomach issues, and after having visits with Dr. Skagnelli I often felt like I was 'faking it' (an unfortunately common theme with doctors and teenage girls such as myself). Overall, he didn't answer many of my questions in a meaningful way when I did see him, and every conversation we had held a feeling of being extremely condescending or rushed. I would rate 0 stars if I could, because a doctor of bare minimum quality should be willing to listen to a patient's symptoms and questions in a non-arrogant way. I'm a very chill cucumber, not much bothers me and I'm really not being a Karen here. Discounting my struggles as a patient has really gotten to my head, and it's hard to help myself get better if he's helping my own brain to believe I'm faking it too.

This doctor does not listen to the parents concerns is rude and hung up on me when I did not agree with him. Why he is in a helping profession I have no idea. Dont waste your time. Go to Upstate.

Dr. Scagnelli is the best you can get. I went to see him over 3 years ago for a Acid Reflux problem I was having. He asked about my overall health other conditions and discussed my health history. He didn’t just have me fill out a sheet he talked to me about it. And when I mentioned I had a thyroid problem he asked if I had ever been tested for celiacs. He had read recent research on the link between autoimmune thyroid problems and celiacs disease. He asked if he could do a biopsy and there it was I ended up not even knowing I had celiacs. But he caught it before I was having severe symptoms just because he thought about my other conditions. Another thing I love about him is that he does his own blood work. When is the last time you saw a doctor who said “hey you should get this done” and walked down the hall to grab a needle and took yoiur blood 2 minutes later. And off to the lab it goes. He is quick gets things done and quite knowledgeable I can not recommend him highly enough.

Dr scagnelli diagnosed my sons condition with testing and bloodwork. He took my son as a patient within 15 mins of my sons Dr talking with him. He saved my son. I am extremely grateful to him. Hes wonderful to my son and even let me stay with my son until the beginning oh his scoping. Yes hes very straight to the point but he did in 1 week what took another Dr nearly 3 years to do.. properly diagnose my son .

I have been taking my son to see Dr S for almost 8 years. Although Dr S is well-educated and seems to know what he's doing he has absolutely no bedside manner, patients, empathy or compassion and is rude, rushing and seems annoyed with our presents and has yelled at us both on several occasions. My child has begged me for the last time to never go again after having to deal with yet another one of Dr S tempertantrums bc of my son being frightened. We are just a # and paycheck to him no more

Went for my son who is 4 months old he walked in said why are you here? I tried to explain to him he kept cutting me off and when I finally got to my point he said give your son 2tsp of Karo syrup every feeding if that does not help his constipation then I will put him on medicine We paid $45.00 and drove 1 hr 13 minutes just for him to tell me that Not very friendly at all

Dr Scagnelli heard what I had to say and provided a biopsy and blood work for my daughter upon hearing of her condition. He is to the point no frills. Don’t go in expecting a warm meeting with sympathetic head nods and a cup of coffee. He will diagnose and help you in I believe the best way that he can. Make sure your voice is heard. It was so refreshing knowing that he listened and then took the needed action.

I never leave reviews, but felt I had to this time. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Scagnelli to anyone. He was impatient, dismissive, and was not at all interested in working with us to find out what is going on with our child. No diagnosis, no follow-up, no dietary suggestions, no nothing. We are in exactly the same place we were in 6 weeks ago and our child feels worse. We will be going out of town for a second opinion.
