List of Jeffrey A. Goldstein's Reviews
After receiving a Spinal Decompression Surgery, I'm pain free and walking upright. I urge patients with similar diagnosis to proceed and get the surgery. There is no reason to accept pain as part of your life. This procedure changed my quality of life.
In March 2018, I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in the L1 S1 area and I was instructed to try all treatments prior to considering surgery. Over the previous five years, I have tried physical therapy, acupuncture, spinal traction treatment, aquatic exercises, and the lumbar epidural steroid injection. Everything provided me with temporary relief, and I continued to suffer daily from sciatica, nerve pain, muscle spasms, and foot drops. My quality of life declined in 2020 because my pain got worse and by the end of 2022, I decide to have surgery done. I now reside in Maryland and drove to NYC to see Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein for a consultation. Dr. Goldstein informed us of the pros and cons of spinal fusion and decompression surgery. We walked out of NYU knowing that Dr. Goldstein was our choice because I felt comfortable and confident in his skills. The surgery was a success and I am confident it's because of his skills and cutting-edge technology used at NYU.
I’m terribly impressed with the professionalism of the whole organization. It started with the reception I received to the PA Chelsea being thorough and in constant contact with me via the portal. Sonia the office assistant setting up the pre testing and giving clear instructions as to what was required of me to lastly the good Doctor. I have already recommended a couple of friends to make an appointment with Dr. Goldstein. He was extremely honest as to the options and his recommended course of action. He has great bedside manner and has a sense of humor (dry). I will never see another surgeon. I truly felt like he really cares about his patients and that’s why he deserves credit for being a highly respected Doctor and Surgeon. I’m grateful for all that was done for me.
I came to Dr. Goldstein in Dec 2022, after suffering from 20ish years of back pain (mostly stemming from the years I spent working in the culinary industry). His calm, reassuring demeanor, and clear description of his recommend procedure, lead me to trust his surgical plan for me. I moved forward with a spinal fusion in Feb 2023, and I felt immediate relief. The healing journey has been perfect so far (very minimal discomfort only after my physical therapy sessions) and makes me feel so capable of getting back to doing all the physical things I used to enjoy. I’m able to move about the world, pretty much pain free. At 40 years of age, Dr. Goldstein truly gave me a new lease on life, and I will be forever grateful.
I lived with ever increasing pain for 5 years, finally decided to hear surgeon’s opinion. Googled my options, Dr. Goldstein was top choice. Got an appointment in 2 weeks, surgery was scheduled in 20 days. Surgery went exactly as doctor said it would. It was lumbar foraminotomy, no hardware. Not a single painkiller since the day of surgery! Thank you, doctor Goldstein!
As soon as I entered the office I was greeted with kindness and warmth. I then met Dr Goldstein and Kristen. Kristen was welcoming and put me at ease. I feel blessed to have Dr. Goldstein treating me. This is a doctor that, not only listens, but patiently explains treatment options. My two visits were wonderful from start to finish.
-Waited total 1 hour to be seen despite being on time. - nurse was fantastic. She is blonde and wears glasses - I expected Dr Koenig to be more educative in his findings based on the MRI. To explain things in laymans terms. To point on my foot and tell me where my injury is versus sitting in his chair and blurting out a technical term that names the ligament that’s torn. He gave short abrupt answers and couldn’t wait to leave. My husband noticed as well. - he didn’t explain why I feel bruising in surrounding areas (4 inches above three point of impact) or why I had a tingly feeling In my foot. I had to poke and prod for answers to my questions. My Pilates instructor the next day did a better job explaining where I hurt myself over a zoom call using a mini skeleton and how it the ligament connects to my tibia and that’s why I can expect to feel pain there as well. She’s not even a foot doctor. And I expect a foot doctor to be more thorough especially when a patient has to wait that long to be rushed to be seen under 5 min. - also overbooking is a major problem. I saw him hop around to 3 other patients before he got to me after the nurse saw me and the waiting room had no more than 10 ppl in it. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. No respect of time. I expect a quality standard of care.
Extremely efficient and professional.
Your tech Jordan is excellent
Dr. Goldtein and his team were very caring. They took time out to explain everything. Communication with the doctor and his medical team were excellent and office staff was very professional. Highly recommend.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
