Briarcliff Manor For Rehabilitation & Nursing Care's Online Review Report Card

This place is awful.  I am in the process of transferring my father from here.  Within 24 hours of arrival, my parent was robbed by a staff member.  Instead of contacting the police and initiating an internal investigation, a staff member, Mr. EWING (perhaps a registered nurse) insisted that my parent was, "Not all there" (UNTRUE).EWING then proceeded to prove that ridiculous theory by lying about police reports and other reports that he did NOT receive.  He never conducted a formal investigation.   My parent was also roughly handled by a staff member.  I'm STILL awaiting  a call and meeting from "upper management ".  Be warned, this place in negligent.

My brother was a patient of this facility for almost a year. I was very pleased with the supervisors, AJ, and mayor for keeping me abreast of his plan of care. They were very diligent in responding to my questions.If you haven't seen the new look of this facility, go ahead and see the beautiful makeover of the interior and exterior. It is very welcoming

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I would never recommend anyone send a loved one here. I fully understand times are crazy and many establishments may be short staffed, however the family member we had sent here did not even receive the most basic care a human should receive. Left to rot in her room for hours on end without anyone checking in, and we were unable to contact her. It took calling the place dozens of time throughout the day to even get a staff member to go into her room and check to see if she was OK. The staff there did not help clean her, they even neglected her dentures for so long that they grew bacteria and caused her a mouth infection and did not assist her with basic needs such as eating which they were aware she needed due to being extremely immobile (hence her reasoning for being there). There was even complaints of staff being extremely rough with our family member and told to "shut up" when crying in pain from being moved around so forcefully. Eventually it got to a point one day where they notified us she needed to go back to the hospital cause her health had worsened so much. Unfortunately this was the best case scenario as after needing weeks to stabilize back in the hospital we were able to transfer her to another rehab that has the decency to provide their patients with basic needs. We were so nervous to send her to another rehab after this experience, but it has proven to be astounding how incapable Briarcliff really was compared to other rehabs. Briarcliff Manor center did not follow through with anything discussed not even with simple items such as care plan meetings with doctors & social workers, its as if is all they cared about was filling a bed with no interest in helping patients at all. We were left in the dark for weeks with no updates regarding her health or progress as not once did a staff member there inform us on her status or how she was doing unless we continually called them to beg them and go in and check on her. I genuinely feel bad for the other elderly patients with no voice who are sent there. I have never been so appalled with the level of care a facility has provided before.

If your parent or relative needs serious or even moderate medical care, do not allow them to be brought here. My father passed away this past spring, and we believe there was neglect and lack of attentive nursing oversight. The daily staff themselves are kind and caring, the rehab personel are diligent, but the people in charge, both the head doctor and person in charge of nursing, keep a distance that prevents problems from being dealt with in a timely manner. The pain and trauma of what seems to have been a preventable death, has kept me from commenting until now.

This has got to be the worse place for any living being. I was there for four days and signed myself out. The place was filthy. The woman that cleaned my room I had watched she cleaned the bathroom first, then she came out with the same gloves she picked up a stack of cups I had on the tray table that they put the trays of food on she wiped the table down she put the cups back down on the table with the same nasty gloves on. The Valance over the window was nasty stained, the heater in my room was blowing cold air in the middle of winter when it was very cold, the heater had peeling paint. The reason the valance was stained the pipe in the ceiling was leaking all they did was change that plastic little tub that they use in the hospitals for throw up under the leak instead of fixing it. The raised toilet seat was disgustingly rusted. I was woken up on a sunday morning at 2am by one of the staff that had an attitude problem wanted to know if I switched beds on my own and i explained the heater was blowing cold air so they switched my bed to the other bed in my room after she left I went back to sleep about a half hour later the Idiot came back to start all over again. i have been woken up early in the morning a few times to ask if i want tylenol (obviously if i was sleeping I didn't want it). The walker they gave me to use had white spots all over it. The morning I signed myself out they took the waterproof bandage off and left my knee a mess. I had to go to my Dr when I got home to fix their mess. My knee ended up getting infected in one spot. I do have pictures I took while I was in that shit hole. The concierge I thought was just a little too friendly. He thought it was ok just to come in and sit on my bed and when he would leave kiss me. That was not ok with me. I spoke with my Captain his father-in-law was there when he told me that i told him he should get him out of there as soon as possible he didn't believe me but he found out for himself and got his father-in-law out. I was in there right after a knee replacement at the beginning of this year. This place needs to be reported to the state!

What an amazing facility and staff! My Uncle was here and his private room was brand new, felt like he was staying at a hotel! Highly recommend. Admissions team is amazing and assisted us with getting my Uncle in! Social Work and nursing staff is 5 stars and took such great care of my uncle. Highly recommend!!

My family was very impressed with the newly renovated facility offering long term skilled nursing care and short term rehab care. The staff was very helpful and we were notified that the facility has a five star quality measure rating from Medicare. I would definitely recommend this new facility and ownership  for future patients.

I was a patient for short term rehabilitation.  I received primo care!  The Nurses and the Assistants were wonderful.  The physical and occupational therapists always gave me the time i needed.  They even let me come to the gym for extra care on the weekend.  I was on the new unit which was beautiful.  The wifi was good, I need for my youtube!
