Use to work in the Healthcare field and know how things work (understaffed and overworked) so when it came to finding a facility for my mother, it was decided that this place would be convenient as family lived in area and could visit regularly (again I state these places are short on staff). The first night things looked shoddy (the t.v. didn't work, the air conditioner had to be unplugged to turn off and the hydraulic system on the bed wasn't working) The rooms are not in the best condition with maintenance not cleaning rooms (bits of trash everywhere) and air conditioner filters dusty and dirty The food is served lukewarm to cold and looks unappetizing There are other things to mention(staff attitudes) but I am not here to bash or be mean I am being as honest as I can...avoid this place and if you really have no other choice I'm hoping someone will diligently come and check on you
We wish to commend the staff at Bronx center in particular the staff on the second floor. My father William Conde was there for over a month and received excellent care. A special thanks to Angelo who became Willie’s favorite. His kindness and sense of humor made my father feel safe and comfortable while in your care. Thank you! The Conde Family
My grandmother was here and this place is horrible. Mice running around in her room roaches all in the bathroom. Someone had Covid in her room and they kept her and the other people in the same room. The nurses have the absolute nastiest attitudes towards the patients. This place needs to reported and shut down. Social workers can never be reached by phone and they never reply to when a voicemail is left. This place just seems shady
Understaffed, overworked staff force, therapy was awesome 👌 after I switched therapist make sure you advocate for therapy time n exercises n play close attention to what they say n give you, they tried to slip me medication 💊 in the dark on more that 1 occasion some are rude with attitudes will puff up their chest at you cause you called them out for LYING 🤥 out a so called wound HSS agreed with me that didn't exist Had worker Jamal jump like he was going to do something to me that another worker had to get in BTW us cause I called him the lier he was trying to get me to agree to mess with a old injury I was getting treated n healed in Mt. Vernon, only idiots think their never wrong. You tell them what to do to your body not the other way around you not an expermental subject to be tested on.
Not the "4 out of 5" rating it claims to be!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. After a week's stay at Montefiore, my mother was scheduled for two weeks of REHAB at this facility. WHAT A MISTAKE I MADE PLACING HER HERE! The morning after she arrived, she became sick. After a few days I took her home (Room 206B) because she kept coughing up phlegm. It became worse, and I didn't want her catching anything...like a pneumonia [or worse]. First off, I didn't realize how "out of date" this facility is; the online pics must be outdated too, because it didn't match what's there today). My friend's mother worked there when I was a teen (I'm 59) and they haven't updated anything since. The nurses are understaffed, and when you ring for them, it takes a while for someone to answer. Twice my mother had get up (and with a walker) walked to and waited at the front desk for someone to come. One night her "roommate" fell off the bed for a second time, and it took 16 mins before someone came in. Upon arrival, the aid on duty had an attitude and scolded the woman for falling!! There was only one rail on the beds (not two); and the meals were usually cold by the time they arrived. Many times Mom had to ask the staff to reheat them her food; which were delivered with a large side of attitude. While showering, my mother saw a cockroach...and the next day, there were two in her room (it's been 24 years since we've had roaches so, I had to fumigate her clothes/suitcase to make sure there were no stowaways). There is no rehab on the weekends (the rehab people were very nice to her); and when my mother asked, the woman at the desk told her, "This is a NURSING home" (even though the building says, BRONX CENTER REHABILITATION & HEALTHCARE). I should've taken her out sooner; especially when her congestion kept worsening. And here's the topper; I just found out her roommate has Covid and they kept my mother in the same room!
This place is still being reviewed as 5 stars and it no longer is! It’s a 1 star! The staff talks about other patients in front of patients. It’s very warm in there which is terrible for germs. The look isn’t what it used to be. The building is slightly over crowded. The staff don’t handle issues between patients well. Definitely a 1 star! Place fell off terribly in the past few years. ((UPDATE!))The overnight staff sucks! They unplug the nurse bell so patients can’t call them. They don’t check on them overnight and they don’t wanna do their jobs! They have young workers who don’t want to touch the patients. They have workers who can’t work with the patients due to weight and size issues. They serve the patients cold food and don’t bring the necessary condiments to eat or drink the items there. Do not send your loved ones here!
My mom was here for Theraphy and she received the best care, the cna’s and nurses were very polite and patient with my mom during her stay at the rehab.Specially Michael the director for admissions he made the admission process easy for me and my family. Everyone at the facility was very kind and helpful so I really mean it when I say thank you Bronx center staff for being so kind and making the healing process for my mom easier.
Had an incredibly positive experience at this facility. Staff was very professional, attentive, knowledgeable and kind. I felt very supported by the entire medical team. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed immediately! I will definitely use them again if needed for any future rehabilitation care of any family member. Highly recommend! **Special acknowledgment to the entire 3rd floor staff!!!
My grandmother was admitted there from the hospital. She is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s & dementia. She been there for two days n we get a call that she fell hit her head and has a hematoma. Where was the staff !!! So disappointed!!!
My grandmother is a patient here and on 6/24/2024 we had to call an ambulance because she appeared to be lethargic and having hallucinations. I was advised she was being treated for a urinary tract infection but the family was never informed. They do not want you to call the ambulance but we did. Upon being admittance to the hospital my grandmother was found to have low sodium the reason for her headaches and decline. This place is terrible and it is sad to see the lack of care and concerns for this vulnerable population. We went to secure some items from my grandmother's room and they discarded all of her clothing and items in bags in the hallway with out being labeled. This is an unkempt facility, that is not safe. I strongly advise that you not place your loved ones here.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
