Children's Hospital At Montefiore's Online Review Report Card

I appreciate the assistance given when my son was in need of treatment

My son recently had to stay for 5 days at CHAM in the cardiac unit and overall we had a great experience. The communication was clear between specialists nurses and medical students. We did come in through ER and the one thing I will say as I read these reviews is that if you are waiting for long periods of times it means your child is stable and be lucky your child isnt rushed in because it means your childs life is considered critical. Wait times are not based on who came first its in order of the severity of the childs health. I appreciate the entire team on the 8th floor where he was hospitalized not every nurse was friendly that is true but the majority of nurses were extremely kind and all the doctors were patient and answered all my questions. I would 100% come back and just want to say thank you again to the team that helped my son.

the waiting area was not that full saw the nurse after about 45 mins and was told to go back to waiting room area until they can call me again that was not the case I was there for a total of 3 hours and in that time heard them only call 2 people it was ridiculous i ended up leaving.

the waiting in emergency room is really bad. I went there with My mom we got there at 10pm and the time the doctor decided to check me out was at 3am.

my team had absolutely no care but when I addressed my concern I was ignored.

The customer service at this hospital is rude and unprofessional. The females ay the front desk are the worst. On August 182021 this one female was extremely rude. And when she is instructing people what to do where to stand with a her nasty tone. Im not from here I live in Virginia. And I cant believe how a person that works at the front desk in a childrens hospital can talk to people any kind of way. Rolling her eyes yelling at people on where they can stand. Who ever put these rules in place and have their savage animals at the front desk enforce them needs to reevaluate the situation. There is no where for people to sit. You have to go across the street for the bathroom. Most places have every other seat but you have no seating .And where do you get off telling people where they can stand. And you also have a rude latino security guard. That was telling me to get away you cant stand there get out of my face. You cant sit up there its for the pharmacy. And when I ask why and the fact that I sat up there earlier he just brush me off. If I couldnt sit there it should have been told to me earlier. There is a way to talk to people and that group the 412 shift dont know how. And the female that was rude was there at 1030am. She was trying to be funny and spell her name out. But I was so upset I didnt hear. This was the worst experience ever to visit a family member that is Ill and having to deal with rude unprofessional people representing your hospital.

I brought my baby who just turned 1 to his appointment today to see his pediatrician he coughed one time and I was told that he was considered “unhealthy and that they were only seeing healthy kids at this time for their appointments”. Mind you this is a whole baby we talking about. They refused to see me and told me I could be seen at the Emergency room or Urgent care but that they couldn’t see him at all. I don’t understand if you are a doctor why was my son refused care today they told me that him being there would make the other kids sick. I still don’t understand it’s a hospital how was he refused care today when there are 100 of other sick people there since it’s a hospital.

I would not recommend this hospital at all. It is the worst hospital. Yes a few reviews had a positive experience. Just because a select few had positive experiences at this hospital doesn’t erase those of us with terrible experiences. I’m having some sort of ptsd related to my hospital experience. Beware that ACS lives in this children hospital and the administration have weird policy’s in place where they can hold you hostage.
