Dr. Rechtshaffen is my fourth urologist ... i fired the first three. I'll stick with Dr. R. He's a straight shooter who cares about his patients. He's overwhelmed sometimes (as so many doctors are), but if you're in trouble, he won't let you down.

I don't recommend these guys. In the staff is nice to deal with, though obviously over-worked and disorganized. The doctors are pleasant and seem competent. Once you leave the office they're rude and unreliable. They won't call you back, the physicians on-call are ill-tempered, and you have to pester them for follow up. They never sent me my sample collection prescription or instructions and when I called back they were combative. FWIW - they botched my first procedure. Guess I'm the dummy.

I found Dr. Rechtschaffen very thorough and instructive. He made me comfortable as he walked through the procedure. He made me feel confident in him. Also, he squeezed me in at lunch time which was very kind.

Dr. R is up-to-date on the happenings in his field and will provides sensible, valuable options on care choices available to you. Considering the sensitive nature of his speciality, I think he shows good bedside manner. He is friendly but not overly emotional or chummy. He will do everything he can to help his patients get the care that they need. I have been seeing him for complications related to type 1 diabetes for over a decade and I trust his judgment. You should too.

I took my 25 year old son and the experience was fantastic. My son was scheduled to have a biopsy but he removed the whole lump that same day and my son was fine. Healing went well and everything went exactly as Dr Rechtschaffen had told us. The results were great. We are so greatful for his insight and his talent. Great Dr.

Wait time in the waiting room is too long--then, when you are taken to an exam room there can be another long wait. The doctor does NOT respond to messages, does NOT ever return calls. This is unacceptable.

Lackadaisical attitude--never ordered medication he was supposed to; charged insurance hundreds of $ for lab tests (I peed in a bottle). Not ever going back to him.
