List of Bobby Buka's Reviews
These people are sick and they are a set of evil do’ers. I hate the fact that I have a bill coming from a debt collector and I refuse to pay this bill.
FIND ANOTHER DERMATOLOGIST!The billing department is absolutely incompetent, if not evil. After months of billing my insurance with incorrect codes, they started billing me. Despite mulitple interventions by my insurance provider and multiple promises to stop illegally billing the patient instead of the insurance, I continue to receive bills and now a huge collections notice, ruining my credit. The patient is not liable to pay for incompetent medical billing practices. TRY ANOTHER PRACTICE AND SAVE YOURSELF TWO YEARS OF HEADACHE AND ERRONEOUS BILLS.
The worst. They are never on time - expect at least 45 minute of a wait with no available chairs. We have been coming for years since when he was just starting out and they used to care- the business is just too big for anyone to care about anymore. Also they haven’t helped either of my children with their acne- Avoid this office
Don't go there.440 Atlantic Ave.
DON’T GO THERE: I wish I saw the reviews before I scheduled an appointment at this place. I did my yearly skin cancer screening visit here cause during the pandemic I did not want to commute to my usual dermatologist in Manhattan. I asked to the front desk to make sure my visit was going to be covered as preventive care as it was always covered per my insurance plan, the rude receptionist just answered me “if the insurance covers it is covered”. Then I received a surprise bill of over $200 for a screening visit that should have been fully covered. I just called the billing department and a much more rude person immediately answered with an aggressive loud tone telling me that they are not covered as preventive care since it was a “specialist visit”, screaming over me and interrupting to the point I had to hang up the telephone as I could not take her anymore. They must receive complaints like this every day. They are just a horrible practice under a fancy facade.
They quote wrong prices trying to rip you off! Would highly recommend not going here.
Don't make an appointment with this office unless you want a surprise bill. I confirmed at LEAST 4 times with the office asking if my insurance was accepted, and I was told it was. I also asked if a referral was needed, and I was told no. I don't have copies of these emails, as they were sent through their portal. I even sent a written letter to the doctor himself, and I still continued to be billed for the visit. I finally disputed this with my insurance company, as the doctor ignored all of this. The numerous bad reviews are also proof there are far better derms to choose from.
I saw the Physician’s Assistant Heleh Stratton at the Brooklyn branch on Eastern Parkway. She was very rude throughout the appointment and she didn’t answer my questions. I came in for skin redness and asked about how to apply the medication she prescribed into my routine, and she instead told me that she doesn’t recommend any of the products that I was using, although she never asked and I didn’t get the chance to explain. (Some of the products were prescribed and recommended by this office before). When I tried to redirect her to get my question answered, she continued to respond to me in a rude and condescending manner. At that point, I told her I didn’t like her demeanor and she shouldn’t speak to patients that, and that made her very upset. I asked her another question about what the medication was specifically prescribed for and if I needed to follow with spf or anything and she refused to answer and stormed out. It was the most unprofessional medical experience I’ve ever had. The practice did call me to apologize after I wrote an email to report her behavior. I had been to this office about 5 times before and never had an issue, but I don’t recommend seeing Heleh Stratton as her bedside manner is terrible. Further, a more general issue with the practice is you see whoever is on staff and you don’t have a consistent doctor, which I didn’t know would be the case originally. I’ve seen someone new every time I’ve went. If you’d rather only see one doctor who’s acquainted with your skin history, I would recommend another option.
I had a very HORRIBLE experience here, i would not recommend this place to anyone!! The doctor (an Asian lady) was very RUDE and DISMISSIVE to me. She never took the time to actually sit down with me to talk to me about my skin condition. She literally stood up the whole time talking to me which made me extremely uncomfortable, let alone there was like 3 assistants in the room just watching, HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I was confused as to why they were in the room, it should have just been me and the doctor. Not to mention, she didn't even care to educate me thoroughly on my diagnosis, like how to properly treat it, what products i should and should not be using. I had to go home and do my own research sadly because I didn't learn anything about my diagnosis and she rushed through the appointment. Her vibe was all the way OFFFFF!! A good doctor is always compassionate towards their patients concerns and always has a positive attitude. DO NOT GO HEREE!!! I PROMISE THAT YOU WILL LEAVE VERY DISAPPOINTED JUST LIKE I DID!!
My appointment and service provideR was changed abruptly and I tried contacting Buka MD through their main line to inquire about this for 3 days, and no one answered the phone or return my calls! The service has really declined since I first became a patient there.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
